I actually dont mind the look of it... I know you cant put Hyundai and Class in the same sentence but it does have a slight touch of class and its got a v8 to boot...

Who knows it may even out price the majority of its competitors too

There was a Ford Front Wheel Drive V8 in the 90's: The Ford Taurus SHO with the Yamaha V8

Also GM have a front wheel drive V8 in the 2000's the Chevrolet Monte Carlo
with a destroked 5.3L LS1.

i think it good on hyundai to change their appearence as cheap and nasty little cars to cheap all round (small to big)

i still wouldnt buy or own one, they look like korean rip offs, and id never own something with a hyundai badge.. except a computer i bought in 1996

and its great for hyundai to do the whole V8 thing.... now all those elderly people who always complain about fords and holdens with V8 will be hipocrits HAHAHAHAHA

Styling : Ugly.

Everything else, awesome.

Come on people, it's a RWD V8 with a truck load of power. It's Hyundai's first go at something like this, they will learn from the mistakes on this model and the next one will blow people away. With their recent track record, we're in for some exciting times indeed.

I dont think it will do particularly well, reading between the lines it targeting Merc and BMW drivers (that is what they are comparing it with) i cant see Merc or BMW drivers switching to Hyundai's, those customers do not buy on price but for other reasons of which I cant see Hyundai taking sales from - I think this car is more of a threat to cars like the Caddy and luxury US cars (not European ones)

Hyundai and Kia have been making large RWD sedans for years. Hyundai have their own prestige brand in Korea that makes very large RWD sedans and limo's with v8 engines.

So they will be exporting a product that will have at least a decade of R&D behind it....

Very smart indeed....

Bugger... I was due to go to Korea in 2 weeks... I could have taken a look first hand!

Won't be sold here. Hyundai Australia couldn't see how they could sell a 60k Hyundai, especially after the Granduer XG was an absolute failure. No one looking to spend 60 k will step anywhere near a Hyundai dealership.

Good on them!

Can't be built any worse than a BA Falcon.

Here is a quick photochop to show it does have some potential :

It's good Hyundai are having a go at building what we want (rwd) instead of persisting with nasty understeering front wheel drives. The latest Hyundais are well built and don't look too complex to work on under the bonnet. Big things are ahead for Hyundai!

I'll stick with my XR8 i think. If i was to spend 60k it would be on a F6 or Force 8 i think i couldnt justify 60k for what is still a hyundai. Good on them for trying but it'll take a bit for them to get into the market i think. Australia's V8 market is cornered by Ford and Holden your average aussie that wants a V8 will buy a one of our 2 not one out of Korea. The Crysler 300C did alright but its still a brand us aussies respect hyundai have a lot of work to do to gain the respect of the true blue Aussie V8 lover

Not Bad, Not great, should do well in North America, won't even go on sale here. To me it looks like a mix between 3 series BMW, Lexus GS, Mercedes E class, and Ssangyong Chairman

Yeah plenty of front drive V8's especially form the states, Most Cadillacs from the 80's and 90's were front drive and v8 powered, most marques are moving away from large powerful front drive cars.

I like it. But I think I would choose something other than a hyundai to spend my 60k on.

Who else here would like to see Hyundai as World No1 car manufacturer instead of Toyota???

I like that Hyundai is building what consumers want unlike Toyota who are telling them want they want and when you argue you are muffled by the "It's Toyota they are always right" argument.

It really ****es me off that Toyota wants you to buy into their overpriced Lexus brand to get anything RWD and anything V8. It's a rip most of the Lexus and Toyota parts are shared anyway.

What would be really interesting is if the Chinese entered the market.

Seeing as the Chinese can steal whatever designs they want they could effectively do a carbon copy of a Ford Falcon XR8 and build it with cheap Chinese labour.

Would anyone here buy a Hanjong Fowlcan XR8 wit a BOOSS V8 producing 320kw for $19,990 drive away??

Put that thing on the WSID....the lights go yellow....you rev the engine and get ready to launch....green light appears and you drop the clutch, smash the gas and watch the engine rip off its mountings, burst though the front of the car as it races down the strip with the driveshaft following in tow and you stare on, still at the lights wondering why you bought a Chop-sui falcon :togo: ...oh and then the engine explodes....
