My in-laws have been down to the smash repairer in Arndell Park this morning ... they were the 92nd person in this morning getting their vehicle inspected ... and that's only one smash repairer.

The windscreen bloke that works with them is booked solid until next year.

Been fun weather for the last 3 weeks hasnt it. Only copped small hail here (well i got one dint on the roof of my Hillman), but talk about some heavy downpours. Got caught on the F3 a few times in insane rain and have had to pull over.

Most of the Central Coast got nailed yesterday, no TV for 4 hours and power out (not at my house fortunately). Looks like this weather will stick around too, ive been checking the BoM radar before taking the Ford out of the garage. What a year for weather, most of Newcastle and the CC are still getting over the July storms.

I was working in Blacktown when it hit - my AU copped it - windscreens cracked up, bonnet, boot, roof and rear quarters all dented and chipped badly. Just at the wrong bloody time too - I'm trying to sell it to help fund a new car!
Only got 3rd party prop damage - wasn't worth the ridiculous money they wanted to insure it.
Bugger!

My Company's NSW Factory is at Blacktown and had every skylight and window in the place smashed. Lots of water damaged Machinery and even hail damage to a car that was inside the shed (underneath a skylight that got smashed)

All the dints are on the bonnet, boot and a couple on the roof. I should count myself lucky!! Cars around me had windows smashed!!

I might get my self a BA XR8 bonnet now :P

Anyone else get any damage??

Anyone got any ideas how much it costs to get dints outa the roof?

Cheers
Mr auxr8, I went to a guy trading as "Dentbuster" a few years ago to get hail damage on my Capri sorted. He rolled the dents out from behind the panels with hand tools. He did a bloody good job - no broken paint and the repairs were absolutely unnoticable. I sold the car shortly afterwards and no-one picked the fact that it had been hail damaged.

He was down around Taren Point from memory. It would be worth looking him up.

If you can't afford to insure it you shouldn't be on the road. Wake up to your self before you have an accident that you'll be paying for for the next 20 years

My in-law's stables roofs are made from ASBESTOS ... and they have had to cordon them off ... the men in white suits had to come and clear it up ... new stables should be built now under insurance ... lucky I guess ... but it was a decent clean-up though.

They had to keep the agistees out of the premises for several days until it was all clear.

I insured my ute including all the mods when I was 19 for under $2k full comp in my name. If you cant afford the insurance you cant afford the car.

Guys let's keep this on track. I agree about insurance, but people have their reasons for not taking out insurance. What ever their reason, it's not our business and shouldn't question their decision, right or wrong. It does nothing for the thread as it's not what it's about. I think theres a thread somewhere on the subject of insurance.

He has insurance - 3rd party property, so if he is at fault, at least his insurance pays for the other car. This type of insurance should be mandatory. Whether you decide to insure your own car for damage is up to the individual, and will largely depend on the premium. At $5000 per year, you'd need a pretty serious accident not to be in front just paying the 3rd party premium (~$300 per year max) and fixing your own damage yourself.

Now, if he had NO insurance, then I would echo your sentiments, but at least he has the right type of insurance to protect himself in an "at fault" accident.
