Some great comments guys.
In all seriousness, I have taken the Ferrari for an extensive drive and off the line the F6 nails it. Unfortunately, being on public roads, I couldn't take it further up the speedo, but printed tests show the F6 would get done as the speed increased.

Depends on what context you wish to apply I suppose. As I said, I have driven this Ferrari extensively and as a daily driver I would prefer the F6 any day.

For driving on a sunny day with the top down, mystique, and pose value, the Ferrari wins for most people.

(Sorry about the "sunny day" insertion, I see it's 10 degrees in London at the moment) LOL.

And I think the FG F6 has run mid 12s.
So like I said, there wouldnt be alot in it until 160+

People have to remember the F6 its making peak torque (which is similar to the Fezza) at 1950rpm and is flat all the way 5200rpm, the 575M doesnt make its peak until 5250rpm

Yes Paul from Elite Auto did a 12.69 in his stock FG F6 (dyno 275rwkw) at Willowbank and has since done an 11.95@116 MPH (tune only, no mods, 335 rwkw). So don't sell the F6 short.

I don't think anyone remotely interested in a Ferrari really gives a toss about quarter mile times. I know I certainly don't.

Far out.

335rwkw with just a tune. Can't wait till people really start opening these babies up.

Both of those cars are hot. But you can't go past the Ferrari! C'mon, it's every mans dream to own/drive one!

The ferrari is worth more to sell, thats the only reason I would take it over the F6.

It looks like puke, give me a 911 turbo or GT2 over that bucket anyday.

And what bucket do you currently drive :-)

I would also take the 911 before the fazazz but it is hardly a bucket.

Both nice cars and in different ways. Always good to contrast different cars together.

Wow, that 575 is really showing it's age for an '05 model...

The F6 would have no chance against the Fezza though, 403kW and 90kg lighter means it should absolutely fly!

I'll take the Ferrari, sell it and buy a Ford GT (which would beat the pants off the Superamerica) and spend the rest on fuel.

I beat a Ferrari 550 (not a 575) at a Phillip Island sprint a few years ago and was neck and neck with a Ferrari Testarossa (fuel pick up problems were costing me about 2 seconds a lap and I was ahead on handling). I don’t kid myself that the owners were pushing anywhere near the abilities of their cars but I can still say that I was quicker than a $500k Ferrari.

Just to bring me back to reality a few Ferrari 355’s with drivers that most definitely knew what they were doing have handed me my butt whenever we’ve been circulating together. Although the exhaust notes are a bit contrived they do sound very good when they are at full noise.

Faster does not equal better

It really amuses me when people, unfortunately its usually VL Turbo (but growing to Ford Turbo Owners as well), infer that their car is better than something else (usually an exotic) simply because it is faster.

The 575 is based on, and looks very similar to the 550 Maranello which is over 10 years old. Even considering that, I think it makes the 1 year old F6 look dull and boring. The F6 is your every day blokes supercar, whilst the Ferrari is the supercars that most every day blokes dream of. I think some people in this thread need to get a sense of persepctive.

Correct Cobra, the first 550 Maranello into Oz was in 1996.

It was the Melborune Motor Show car and was Rosso Corsa (red) with tan leather.

The owner then promptly changed the leather to black at a significant cost. Awesome car - still remember the owners son giving it a right squirt at a mate's wedding. The sound of a Ferrari V12 really is something to behold.
