See what happens when you tell us more info!!!!

Back to my original post, it's just like salespeople. find a good one and tell them everything important and they 100% honestly should show you the right car. I know I used to, it was something I prided myself on. Even taking the car to their house in the test drive to let them fit in garages, fit golf clubs, prams, you name it.

i would`nt touch a 5 year old golf..........., if your mums happily been in a small to medium car, i would`nt take her out of her comfort zone so to speak, new focus all the way out of the options you have put up.

Default what to buy

They are all good cars but being a Ford mechanic I would go for a gas Falcon as they are cheaper to run than a Focus. Ford are running out some good deals at the moment. If you know anyone that works for Ford they are having a special offer to their friends or anyone they recommend with really good prices.

How do you figure? Have you seen the resale value of Falcons? It's not like a 6spd BFII XT is special since the FG is running the same engine and gearbox. I would say the resale of a Focus or any small car will be much better in the current economic climate.

My Falcon is now worth about 1/3 of what it's new price was and it is only 4 years old.

But if your mum loves driving a Falcon it sounds like she knows what she wants. Has she test driven all of the options you have given?
