Dont care that its 2nd hand, probably the best 1st owner you could get. I think this car as a prize is better then a GS as suggested its different and unique aswell. So what its been smashed looked who owned it. Its gotta hold some sort of value later in life id say.
IMO its the best looking BA/F (non FPV) around bar none.

Id take it over any BA/BF FPV anyday. Not even the Cobra or the 40th anni guys have the limited number of these. More power, better brakes etc etc

So I'm guessing if it was Phase 3 they were giving away that had been in an accident, people would have the same opinion?

Apart from being Dicks car, its a DJR320, it's supercharged, it's built by Herrods and it's a very limited build. New or 2nd hand, who wouldn't want to win it.

I saw this car at Shell near Beenleigh a few weeks ago. He was filling it up with V-Power (no way!!). All I can say is this car goes hard. And sounds freaking awesome. And looks perfect.

For a competition that doesnt seem to be started or advertised anywhere, news travels fast. Apparently seen on other non-automotive forums already....

When I bought my AU at the Time I had wished to have the money to Purchase one of these beasts.
First time I saw one in flesh was at Frankston Beach and Yes the traffic stop behind me P***s cause I couldn't take my eyes of it.
I be honored and humbled to have Dick own car. There are many enthusiast who would pay top dollar had it been for sale.
Who ever wins it would be the Luckiest man/women

I hardly think this sort of reaction is called for and certainly does nothing for the quality of the conversation.

Well done to Coke, Herrod’s and Dick for putting this together. Someone gets to own Dicks personal car and a very well specified one at that. Got to admit I looked for a bottle today myself but perhaps Tassie isn’t in the loop just yet. (old stock) ;)

Nothing to do with me putting this together, all i done around 5 years ago was design and engineer and build all of the DJR320 road cars.
The rest is history , i have a true friend ship with Dick and we are great mates. It is so good to read so many positive posts on how people think about these cars, who ever gets to win Dicks own road car will be a very lucky person .
dick tells me that all you need to do is buy a bottle of coke and pick up an entry form from the shop. I have not seen any myself but he tells me it will be australia wide and entry forms are everywhere in Qld right now.

This is a great car and strongly recommend the minimal effort to enter the competition to win it. You blokes that are against it - stick to your word and give the rest of us a better chance ehhh???

Rob, will it definately have the alloy supercharged donk left in it for the winner?

From what I've heard you make a purchase from certain outlets and get a card with a unique code...issue with this type of competition is its pretty easy for employees to divert these cards/codes to mates or gather from purchases where they arent claimed, and pass on to friends/rellys....unlike codes printed on labels. I wish everyone luck, including me!

No alloy engine , we are fitting the original engine back into the car .

Exactly.

And anyway, it's a competition. If anybody was unlucky enough to win it and they don't want to drive a "second hand XR8", you are most welcome to send it my way.

hmmm seems to me, the engine is part of what made this car so special. DJs own alloy supercharged V8. To replace it kinda takes the apeal out of it for me, coz that makes it only half DJs car... and the best half has been removed.
So I pass... to the rest of you, good luck.

P.S. you said ur putting back the original engine? the original stock XR8 engine when the car was first sold by ford?

Is the supercharger gonna be refitted?

Its amazing , here is the chance to win a Ford ledgens own road car , a peice of motoring history and because an alloy engine block is going to be replaced with a cast block. The car is now only half a car! We have our reasons for replacing the block! Its called an original engine number. And yes the car will be fitted with the supercharger.
