Next time you get busted for doing something, blame it on TV.
It's TV who told us we are trying to emulate what they put on! And as Homer Simpson said, who are we to argue with TV?!

If this is true, which they claim, then by them showing the footage on TT/ACA they are also to blame for the next "hoon" incident......no? ;)

They have more and more murder programs on tv nowdays........mmm, must kill someone...... ;)

P.S Is it just me, or is that motoring "expert" on TT, (can't think of his name) a total pencil or what?

Of all the things to sit down & watch, and it was Today Tonight, here they were talking up sky diving of all things after saying how dangerous drifting is (Arena was in controlled conditions even if it was illegal). It occurred to me that I would rather be in a car drifting at a 100kph than worrying if the parachute was packed properly, my point being is, what is the difference? These so called "current affairs" shows seem to make a habit of telling Joe Public what to do.
I do not condone ridiculous behavior behind the wheel, but the gov has a habit of clamping down on young people but not giving them any where that they can go.
On the roads speed kills at about 35% of the time.
In sky diving speed kills at about 99% of the time, go figure.

An expert would have a much larger understanding of the automotive world, rather than throwing his hands up in the air and blaming of all things, Top Gear. Why not start a campaign to stop the V8 Supercar series at the same time.

When the media is finished with us, we as a nation will only be allowed to eat with plastic spoons & Forks and be wrapped up in bubble wrap to go to work.

Sorry about the Rant. But that feels better getting it off my chest. :

Thank you for speaking so many words of truth.

Unfortunately, the way I see it anyway, is that these shows have such a strong following by "do gooder" viewers, who see story after story like this on there, and all of a sudden its a total epidemic, something must be done!!!!!!!! All of a sudden, where there wasn't really a problem before, the government and police feel compelled to do something about it to appease these said "do gooders" and that's why we're just getting tougher and tougher laws.

If only we could start our own show, to educate everyone how false, doctored, and misleading these shows actually are. "Frontline" did a good job back in the day, but hell.

I always wanted to create a fake story somehow about something and take it to ACA. All the while, secretly filming the background of the setup and everything like that without them knowing, let them air the story, the same day I'll send my setup footage and background info to TT.

What surprises me more is people watch trash like ACA or TT. It's bottom feeding journalism to the highest degree.

Or, if you must watch this garbage, take note of the commercials that are on during the show and contact the advertisers. Tell them that you will boycott their products or services.

It will most likely fall on deaf ears, but if they get enough e-mails, at least they will be aware that there are some out there who are not happy with them supporting gutter journalism.

Remember, the dollars are in the ratings.

I’ve been watching this show for nearly eighteen years. This show should be mandatory viewing for anyone who’s ever watched the news, current affairs shows or opened up a newspaper.

Now there’s a show that had a lot of truth in it. In my opinion, one of the best shows ever put on TV.

Does anything in this clip sound familiar?

Not sure. Either way, I won’t be driving along it. After watching that clip, I refuse to risk the lives of my family, the cat, dog and the bloody gold fish that I have in the boot.

There could be some crazzzzy drifter trying to kill me just because he watches Top Gear and needs to get his speed fix.

I’d just like to take this opportunity the thank ACA for alerting me to the reckless behaviour of this “out of control” hoon.

I saw walked past the tv and caught a glimpse of the ad for it, I stopped dead in my tracks thinking, 'I know that corner!!' First time I've actually made an effort to watch ACA.
Got a message off Zac about 10minutes after the story aired.
Might have to find a new stomping ground.

He's game though, I've seen Hwy Patrol through there a few times in daylight.

So, even if you didn't know the history of the clip... they had the guys rego, but needed the publics help in 'finding him'??

As soon as they posted the rego I paused it, went to the RTA and did a search. Plate comes up as available.. meaning no amount of searching will find this plate on a correctly registered car on the road ANYWHERE in NSW...

Boggles the mind as to how low a program will stoop to get ratings....

Well, I for one, am very disappointed in Carlos' behaviour. He could at least have driven a locally made car to promote our industry.

Funny how they blame top gear..

they thrash about on a track..

a closed circuit with emergency crews, yet they are somehow irresponsible?

screw the media.. they are nothign other than poor fiction.

Also don't go bushwalking in that there forest, or else you might be skittled by Crazy Carlo, according to the "top cop" that they approached to comment on the actions in the video.
