$68 to fill right up??? Thats not much! Petrol is currently $1.59 per litre 91 octane here in NZ, and it costs me close to a $100 to actually fill right up.
I rarely do it though...usually bang in $40 when I get to DTE 100km.

Easily get 500 kms plus average though, not bad for 255,000km,auto and suburban driving -I reckon. On the highway, they are surprisingly economical. The good ol I6 doesn't take much pedal to keep rolling once your at highway cruising speeds.

And the bad new for us Kiwis is that there is a new Govt petrol tax coming into force soon of at least 10c per litre for all our "new roading projects"- the same DAMN ones we are already paying for with the "roads" tax component within the price per litre of petrol now...double dipping as usual. :

Geez, Another blow.

Im not much for protesting and protestors...
But sounds like you guys need to get the power of the people going.

If you cant get the Gov down, get the Petrol Co's.

I actually got an email the other day.
They are planning a strike/boycot on 2 of the major oil companies in Aus in a few weeks.
Not to buy from Shell and BP if i remember rightly for 2 weeks or something...
Should force them to lower prices to retain business.

I might work... It may not.

I've got the PDF here somewhere....

I have just come back from a trip to ballarat from Bendigo, I filled up at Ballarat full, and filled up back home it took 10 litres and I did 115 klm, so thats 8.6 litres per 100klm, sitting on 105 with the cruise all the way, so for a 68 litre tank that is 790klm to a tank, not bad for a small block V8, 230kw, the fuel gauge has not moved since leaving Ballarat also, it is still sitting above full.

Thats the way I see it. I didn't buy my car for fuel economy I bought it for FUN. I bought a 4cyl POS for running around in and doing the daily grind to save the $$$

But just for the heck of it, I average about 300 - 350km Max per tank around town

You know if people actually collected fuel economy figures and type of driving we could make a list for comparison to see if your car is running correctly or not...
