i remember a story of a HO that got burnt in a shed fire (and i mean burnt to a crisp) and then the car got restored and is still considered to be an original. its a debate that probably would never end. |

It's always sad to see any Aussie classic rotting away like that. I know of a couple of HOs up my way in the same state out in a paddock.

Will end up like the valuable possessions of many a stubborn old man... once they die, sold on by kids or grandkids who want a quick buck.

I said to him he was right as this car was put together by one person for mechanical, one for the trim work and one for the painting. This car would be FAR better than anything off the production line. When we finished putting it all back together, he drove it straight up to the car lot and traded it for a new one. Could not believe it!!

I,d give my right arm to find an old GT like that and preserve its history while using it and not having to worry about putting a stone chip on it or what ever. You could actually enjoy the experience of owning a GT. Dont get me wrong i love em all, but the crusty ones tell a story.

GTHO's thou nice, do not interest me. There have been many threads where postings have been made stating the compliance plate was taken. For example, when the now restored Phase IV was on show there was a story about a young kid trying to lever it off the vehicle. Others have stated that they remove the compliance plate off their HO's and store them in a safe. My question was of genuine request for knowledge. If you are that good at reading minds then you will have no problems with what I am thinking now. Cheers Vincenzo

The bushman GT. It is being kept original just the way it is. And it looks great in my opinion- they are only original once.

Love these old cars, they've got character
knowing that these old things are still getting around with all that wear and tear makes me feel better about my old cars, which are far from perfect... proves that if you've got a good design it will still look good no matter how much rust, scratches, or dents it picks up in fact I reckon they look better with a bit of age on them I didn't know they had 164L tanks though! Who cares.
If he did want to sell it he would want what? 100K? Yep 100k for a rusted out falcon. Think i'd rather spend that kind of money on a new SC GT and still have change. Seriously he must have problems to just let it sit there. |

Galaxy... Have a think, do you honestly think anyone contemplating making a fake GTHO (to pass off as real) was just given this idea by Vincenzo right now? |

If you had of read or quoted my other post in reference to his you would see what I mean't and my thought's on the matter upmost, I also was not the only one to mention what was said by him about doing so on a public forum, didn't care to quote the other person though did you, who also mentioned it before me . Anyway my point being is that anyone that wishes to do such a thing should suffer more then just the law, god help them I say. Last edited by flappist; 28-04-2013 at 08:39 PM. Reason: argumentative |

A guy in Tassie who sold a Gt that ended up being a fake. He did jail time for fraud.. That should be a lesson to other guys changing ID plates or selling fake muscle cars.
