Why do we feel so passionate about buying Australian Made cars or nothing. When I doubt that anyone on here has ever shared the same sentiment for other products they buy.
We are all buying foreign made products, its impossible to live of products that are 100% Australian owned & made. Its sad but there is not a lot made here anymore compared to say 50 years ago. Its the global world that we live in. Sure it helps if you buy products with as much local content as possible. But I think it would be fairly hard to find an Australian made product for every item in you household. I try & buy Australian where I can & I don't buy products on the internet that undercut local retailers. But I have no hesitation in buying a foreign made car over an Australian Car. |

Knowing how coupes have always sold in limited amounts then people lose interest, would they bother with the Mustang?
A 4 door version of the Mustang I would like to see. |

Conflicting interests?
Ford still has gaping holes in its product line up in Australia while we are worried by the reduction and future withdraw of two products that are slowly receding in volume. By the time 2016 rolls around, the public may already have given its decision on Falcon and Territory anyway, making Ford's decision academic. In that instance, Would it be that unacceptable for Ford to pursue alternate global replacements for Falcon and Territory that provide similar coverage in terms of sales volume? |

Yep.
I have 2 VM Transits, a LW Focus Sport Diesel and picked up my new XLT Ranger yesterday. All imported Fords, all are great vehicles

You know what, in a way, I'm actually a little excited about what the future holds for Ford Australia.
Obviously, losing the Falcon rips my guys out my chest, I've owned a Falcon since I turned 18, my family have had Falcons since I was 5, losing the Falcon is a massive deal, and quite rightly so, people (including myself) are mourning... But Ford US makes some beautiful cars... In my recent trip to US, I drive a brand new Fusion, Taurus, Edge and Explorer, and they were at level that is so far above the Falcon it's not funny... I was genuinely in awe of the cars, and what they include as standard equipment, the quality of the finish, the looks, nothing was comprimised, nothing was a half-hearted attempt at what they wanted to do because the money wasn't there, and most importantly, they are economically viable... I'd rather have only blue ovals in my driveway than no blue ovals at all... And if Ford persists with the Falcon and Territory, as much as I love them, Ford Australia would go completely belly-up within 10 years... If we get the Taurus, Edge and the Explorer over here, wow! That would be amazing! |

Mustang only!!! Don't care about FWD, or small. But I'll keep the Typhoon regardless, assuming financial circumstances allow.

Having already bought a fiesta because i thought it was the best option for what i was looking for I would answer 'yes' to this question. Having said that my other car is a falcon and i like it a lot more because it is strayan.

Most likely keep my 2005 BA Turbo (46,000ks never know it might be a collectable one day) and buy a Focus sport.

considering that the Falcon only attributed a small % in overall sales, I would say than may members here are already buying overseas produced vehicles, so why wouldn't you keep buying a Ford from OS

yep for sure.
First car was an Escort. I've since had a Focus and two Fiestas. I'd love a Ranger/Everest 4WD one day to replace my old Pajero, and if I won lotto a Mustang GT500. Of course if I won lotto now I'd buy a Falcon GT...

Yes but it's his opinion and I also share it. I will be attempting to buy either a Territory and/or GT before production stops. After that I will have to maintain my vehicles for as long as I can or until I die. I too refuse to buy imported and prefer to stand by our Australian made brand. It seems too many of us have failed to buy Aussie-made and like to be so called brand snobs thinking imported is better just because it's imported. Long live the Aussie I6 !!! |

The Falcon was the only car in the Ford lineup that interests me. When the time comes to replace my Falcon I would look at a Commodore, however the reality is by the time comes it to will be gone. Ford has gone from the top of my shopping list to the bottom.

I don't think I would.
I've had 4 Falcons, all have been I6's and 3 have been turbo's. I just don't think there is anything else that compares in this price range. Falcons really are great all rounders and the performance versions are pretty hard to beat bang for buck.

Only the Mustang, if they keep it affordable, and not slap some stupid price on it.

The reality is though that it shouldn't be a challenge, the Mustang is dirt cheap in the US, even cheaper than the Scion FR-S, which is the Toyota 86 here, which sells for 29k.
They would be incredibly greedy if they couldn't get a base V6 Mustang for under 35k. |

Seeing as my first preference has now been taken away. I'll be judging all future options on their merits, which means that Ford may no longer be on the top of the list.

Selling cheap Mustangs will be a good opportunity to keep performance buyers attached to the brand.
