I've already mentioned on another thread that I will be buying a new GT prior to Oct 2016. It's not about making money it's about taking my last chance to secure it before I lose the chance. Honestly i think it will take 30+ years for any chance of financial benefit. Probably never. I feel i have already supported Ford by buying the GS new in 2010...

Some of us remember the old "V8's till 98" campaign and how successful that was. Is it to late for something like a "Ford till 2044" campaign to stick it up the powers that be.

It's like we have to try something. Anything.

As long as the plant is open there is hope. I know back in 2011, GM reopened a plant that had been shut for 2 years!

I would love to see the plant to even turn into a global niche role like building taxis or ambulances for the world.

I too will be ready for a new Falcon/FPV in 2016, ideally one of the last, and I'm also hoping it will be still available at that time.

Its such a shame the majority of our import-loving nation have no idea how good these cars really are.

for me the plan was to buy in 2017/18 when my son takes over my xr6, ive never been in a position to buy a new car & that was when i was hoping to do so, so now im gonna start working towards moving that plan forward 2 yrs & grab a gt as its been the halo car for me with the one day ill have one dream... well now its a bit of a nightmare & ill have to get it now or never
it will spend its first 2 yrs not doing much but will be a daily after that..
this "falcon buyers come out of the wood work" was always gonna happen & in 2016 you'll find that once holden confirms the commodore set up which is currently said to be a mid sized front wheel drive the holden boys will do the same as us, in fact i know a few that are already holding off on the ss until 2016 for the same reason.

I've never been in a position to buy a newie. The closest I came was buying my old BA XR6 as a 12 month old exec car in 2004. Planning to replace my daily in 12 to 18 months time, hopefully with a new Falcon.

I would love to see a limited edition run with the most popular colors from the entire history of the falcon. I know maybe its wishful thinking, but imagine of ford said if you order a new falcon from the last batch, you can have any color you want from the last 90 odd years. That would be cool.

I hope to be in a position to buy a brand new GT in 2016.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much over RRP the very last GT off the line will go for? Surely Ford would have to do something special to commemorate the end of an era...

At the age of 47yrs i bought my very first new car a XR50T, i feel so lucky and privilaged to own such a special car considering the recent news, would love a GT but probably out of reach so maybe a nice clean GS will do. At least for us Falcon fans Ford has given us three years to make a decission. I hope you get YOUR new Falcon.

Would love XC (?) colours Spruce (dark green) and Wedgewood Blue to become available again. Thunderbird colours IIRC - FTW.

After seeing the bottle O Falcon at Bathurst last year, Zircon green or Reef green on a GT would look awsome.

Yeah, everyone loves the XY GS 250 2V over that heap of junk GTHO that used an imported engine

The V8 is assembled in the same plant as the 6 now, even though it uses an imported block and heads it still uses a lot of unique local parts. Ford do not use a supercharged version of the Coyote anywhere else.

Miami is the Australian version of coyote V8 where as coyote is USA V8. while its an American based motor it does have some Australian content in it and is assembled in Australia. GT will be collectable as will be F6 but the one I see most collectable will be the GT-R spec. fastest falcon from the factory and in limited release of only 350. I can see its value soaring in about 30 years time. time will tell

Im hoping to buy a brand new Falcon before its all over. I have never owned a brand new car and I will defiantly be buying one of the last GTs or a limited edition model before 2016. I currently own a XD,XE,XF, EF, and a laser and the EF is the newest cars I have ever owned. so yeah the latest last models would be nice in the garage.

I suspect that what we’re seeing now is simply a kneejerk surge in interest. It will disappear once people understand that there are still three years to go.
The problem in leaving it to 2016, will be the timing. I doubt Ford will run EVERYTHING at full whack until the last second. They will be cutting costs wherever they can. Who knows, maybe the Falcon will stop production before the Territory?
Or worse, they shut the engine plant, and so once stocks are gone the last Falcons that roll off the line all come with ecoboost, wouldn’t that be a ****er.

In all seriousness, if you want your last Falcon to be a Ute, or an XR6T, I’d be keeping an ear to the ground.

Yeap thats my goal. The true Australian performance car, get the manual!

If the 'stang comes then there's always going to be a V8. Id rather have a F6 to blow it into the weeds.

I've never been in a position to buy a new car either. But, as I turn 50 in 2016, I see nothing wrong with maybe breaking my duck then.Maybe a sedan and I'll keep the BF ute.
