It's a complicated science. These sort of guys usually trawl for the newest possible Euro they can get on 100% finance, but if the euro is too old, they ignorantly pass it off as old and not cool/fast/attention grabbing, meaning that the cars usually owned by these fellas are within 10-15 year old (eg an e46 M3 convertible is probably peaking right now, but the e30 wouldn't make them feel rich and boss like enough, and so goes ignored, available for real fans of the marque to add to their collections) Once a car becomes vintage or concourse, the true appreciators lovingly take ownership, restore them to their former glory (removing the viper alarms, chromies and JVC Head units) and enjoy them unraped. It's complicated, and many once expensive euros go through this process, But man I love your Beemer. Big congrats on finding that one. |

Leyland Marina
Somebody two doors up from where I lived had one (I believe it had a 6cyl in it) when I was growing up and I thought it was cool. Then when I watched a Top Gear challenge (the one where they race through the snow), I thought the Marina when it was done up in its 'race spec' looked pretty good with its snow tyres etc. |

Danny, I took no offence at all. I liked the passion you showed. It matters not to me what people own / drive etc so long as there is passion, thats all that counts.
Cheers Vincenzo (glad you like the 635)

Had a 85 Series II jag xj6 soverign for a couple of years.....one of the best handling cars in stock form I've ever owned. The engine had plenty of stick...could sit at 160 all day. Designed for autobahns. Brakes were amazing 4spot on the front 2spot on the rear.
Problem was it just didn't look tough. So I sold it and bought my 67 Mustang GT-A. It looks like its going fast just parked in the drive....which is just as well, 'cos it doesn't handle at all!!! I have a soft spot for all the muscle cars of the 60's.....

Nissans
Mainly gtir pulsar, 4wd turbo, drove an 11sec one as an apprentice mechanic at Nissan and fell in love, but loved GTR skylines before that thanks to gran turismo

I really love the shape of VY commodores through to VE. Only the SV6/8/HSV though. The VZ the most. And as bad as it sounds, the 6's and 8's sound amazing with a decent exhaust

I love the Charger chrysler with a hemi 265, man those things really do it for me, with bitumen destroying power.
And the Bugatti veyron, now that's sex on 4 wheels. Oh and the EH, HG & HK Monaros. I like the old muscle holdens not so much the commodores etc.

growing up always had a thing for vx calais/hsv vx' with the centre trim. I do like vz's after going for a drive in a friends vz calais 5.7 with CAI but would still prefer my xr6t over either.
I am a fan of bmw/merc/audi...Almost bought a e46 330ci or an A6 C5 2.7TT before deciding on the xr6t. I can appreciate the older euro's but wouldn't desire to own one...I'm a fan of any bmw e36/e39 and newer infact I love driving my brothers e39 even though it looks "old" to some, represents true european style and engineering imo. Would love a newer RS/S 4/5/6 audi, AMG merc(c/e class) or M spec M3/M5. No not a fan of 1 series/A3s/A Class cars Also hate to admit it but I do admire quite like the SRT8's even if most of the euro's seem to give the 300s a bad image imo.

I recently developed an interest in motor homes (not caravans). Its gotten so bad that every time I see anything from a merc van to a new 52 seat coach I imagine decking one out and hitting the road for a few month/years....
Not that I could ever afford it but.....

I adore and own classic falcons, but I also find a strange appeal to small cute micro-cars. Suzuki Cappucinos, Honda Beats, Daihatsu Copens, Holden Tigras. I could almost own the latter...

I've always wanted to customise a HB Torana 2 door in a 68 RS camaro style(blackout grill and nose stripe) and do it as a streeter not a drag car.
Probably a commy V6 drivetrain painted in ford clevo light blue with a matt black stripe... matt black roof , GTRXU1 style flutes and wheels!

I currently own two AMC Javelins and a Plymouth Fury so I'm pretty much brand agnostic.
I tend to swing from one make and model to another every week or so. Lately I've had a fascination with Studebaker Hawks (my first car was a Stude Lark) .. .. I've also had a somewhat unhealthy fixation with early 6.3L Mercs .. And weirdly early "Hakosuka" Nissan GTRs? |

The C63 is the next car on my shopping list, and only because I can't afford an E63 anytime soon lol. However, this is because I have always loved Mercedes and drool over the AMG range. My confession though is that I really love hot hatches and 90's - early 2000 Jap cars. I'll always have to own large cars though as I'm 6'2" and 110kg, I can't fit in these comfortably. My dream car that I will never buy is a Targa Spec '95-'97 Supra JZA80 RZ with the 2JZGTE

There was ( maybe still is ) a Volvo wrecker in Melbourne, they had a 240 wagon cut down into a ute, with a 350 in it. Looked amazing, it just had a really nice shape as a ute. Unfortunately my Wife doesn't share my passion for these cars. She won't stop me buying one, all she said was "don't expect me to get in it!" I also love a few American cars, owned a 1982 Trans Am for a while until we had our first child - definitely not practical with baby seats & prams. |

I did think the 1980's Starion was a fine looking car. despite not liking modern Toyotas, a mustang Celica, or the second to last GT4 are both awesome lookers. and I like all the 1970's and earlier VWs, all of them, bugs, kombis, karmanns.....

Have a soft spot for the HQ Monaro LS, really nice shape with no body striping and paint-outs, and just two doors. Some of those early colours have managed to age gracefully too and suit that shape perfectly.
