Wow dude, cool story. I guess it's pretty funny watching normal every day people lose their jobs, maybe even the roof over their heads...over something that may have been easily resolved.

If they did their job correctly the story would never have happened....

I had a prang in the Festiva and when I collected it there were some very obvious flaws in their 'workmanship'...

His reply "It's only a Festiva mate"... yeah, great attitude that. And that was the bloke who ran the joint.

Be thankful it wasn't a boat.
I have my boat in being repaired after some storm damage and buried within my PDS is a part that states that Club Marine may claim a portion of the replacement costs of the parts for "fair wear and tear", or words to that effect.

My boat is 10 years old. It does show marks and wear and tear on several pieces, so the broken part will be replaced with new but I have to contribute ~30% of the costs....

Imagine that with your GT.............
"Your bar is 8 years old and chipped and scratched so we will only pay 50% of the cost of a new one, you have to cover the rest"

Most Car and Home insurance policy have the same statement. I have seen people having to pay extra for home repairs and car repairs because parts where damaged that had to be replaced, but they were damaged pre accident, so the owner had to pay the extra cost.
