I've used the following jack and jack stands for several different cars for several years without issue.

Quality jack and stands. .... Always.
Front of GT is quite low so I need something low profile. Thinking of getting one of these http://www.totaltools.com.au/bahco-2.../#.VQvdrMkzHqA Or http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/380764228777 |

Ha Ha
I bit the bullet and picked one up today from total tools. The Bahco 2000kg unit. Good bit of kit. Looks very well made and low enough to slip in under the GT front bar. I picked up the 2000kg TTI stands as well. http://www.totaltools.com.au/tti-axl.../#.VQ0BpIZXerU |

I grabbed some treated pine sleepers from Bunnings.
Grabbed 4 for $20. Cut 2 into 60/40 and Nailed them together like a step. Just drive up onto this for fluid change. Anything else, jack and stands |

Looked at quite a few jacks to replace my existing one, and the Bahco 2T stood out as a reasonably-priced, good-quality unit. |

I used a mix of ramps and stands depending on what I plan on doing with the car on the car. If I need to have the car up but dont need to remove the wheels I put it on ramps as I have found them more stable. I just have one set of ramps face the opposite direction to the other Still involves jacking the car up but over the years i bet just about everyone has either had and experience or family member/ mate/ or mate of a mate that has made them be wary about lifting and supporting the car once lifted.
