Anything limited to 80kph as that is is pretty useless as far as I'm concerned and it is referred to as a space saver in my owners manual, was glad to get a real spare in the boot, my 97 EL Ghia had a full size alloy for a spare, sounds like the cost cutting just got worse in the spare wheel department as time went by

Not just cost cutting, but striving for fuel efficiency numbers too (a lighter spare will have some minute saving over time), because that's all buyers these days care about.
(so win win as far as the bean counters are concerned)

In real terms, a new BF2 Ghia was quite a bit cheaper RRP than an EL Ghia.

I had one of your rims in my xt , it's full-size but only 16" and a larger profile. As mechanik said, spacesavers are more like bicycle tyres, a tiny rim with a huge profile. They are really dangerous imo and I won't have one in my car. So don't throw your spare, it's usable.

but just prefer to have a Ghia alloy spare (have 4) and not be limited to 80kph if I need to use it, peace of mind and looks was also concerned that the ZF6 would be upset by it, let alone the DSC or ABS. Best one is in the boot

Interesting.
I just noticed the "Low Velocity". I will guess those things are made for suppressors. Suppressors can only work to reduce muzzle blast from the gasses. It can do nothing against the mini sonic boom of bullet breaking the sound barrier. |

Correct, one button for both. However, the FG is smart enough to sense when you're in deep $h#t and apparently comes back on to save you.
