Another good article.

i always liked the Rancheros and the El Caminos for that matter.

I imagine a 429SCJ with a toploader in a Ranchero would be about as much fun as it gets.

Interesting comment about not many Traction Loks sold with the 70 429CJ auto cars. To be honest, I'm not a fan. For a street car, give me a locker any day.

There was also Ranchero's with the 429CJ option. Can you begin to imagine 400hp+ in a spring rear ute from the 70's? 4 speed too!
My same Uncle with the boss, also had a Ranchero 429CJ & a 73 Mustang 429CJ.

I know its starting to sound a bit far fetched but he also had a few others.

Only got to ride in one,.which was a 390ci Fairlane, and I wasn't very old at the time

I'm so glad I was a kid in the 1970's than the 2000's. Yes, more cars handle, brake & are quick these days but the styling & sounds of those great steel bodied cars hasn't been matched I reckon. Big block, two doors, paint names like Grabber Orange, Last Stand Custard and my favourite, Anti establish mint which is such an appropriate name.

Just dropped into this room - had a look at the vids. That B9 leaving the car show sounded unreal. The friend I sourced the Talladega for had a nice Grabber blue B2 and I found him a buyer for it in Sydney a couple of years ago. Collector friends on mine here on the Gold Coast had a B9 they sourced in Atlanta and I had a short drive around the block. All I can say is those cammers are beasts ... not your everyday driver. LOL
