I saw a Red VE SS on Saturday.. IMO it's not ugly and is an improvement on the VZ but you can tell Holden have taken cues from the BA/F, 380 and Camry, therefore it looks too boring to me... Have got some pic's but they are on my phone and no way to get them on to the computer atm :s

The rims looks like Calais large rims off the VY or VZ. Could be possible they have the old rims on it...
As for scraping the guards? Well I think if you scrape them, you should be banned from carparks because you can't drive. |

Tsk Tsk Holden.
The Calais is not only plotted against the Fairmont, it has the same front end as one. Holden's stylists must have been getting sick, as the Ford Temps that did both the Fairmont and Fairlanes have designed the Calais. Can someone photoshop the Wheel Arches off the VE onto a BF Fairmont? Might be good for a laugh.

Lol I still reckon the VY Calais wheels were identical to the AU XR8 ones.
There's a masked & tapped up VE SS that has been driving around Bentleigh East for the past few weeks, a black one. The side indicators on the guards look like they're LED's, it has a presence on the road but I'll reserve other opinions until I test drive one, they reckon fuel economy is better than the VZ.. Hmm.

Yeah, the wheel arch flares look rediculous......I'll wait to see what they look like in the flesh.
Is that why the car is parked in front of a bin?

I must say the flares look od.., very "landcruiser-ish".
Maybe a leftover styling cue from the avalanche?

They are kind of similar (if you screw your eyes up), but there are major differences. The VE lights look similar to the HSV ones on VY/VZ. :ticking:

I'm amazed how far back the engine sits into the flywall. Couldnt be good for noise. The rest is a good looker imo.

Just like the Camry & Mazda 6, most new cars these days look the same though.
Nice photo mix there, the BF Futura in the top right - country pack suspension? Ride height is something Holden have the edge over Ford on base models.

If you can't judge an extra 3 inches of wheel arch flare, then you damn well shouldn't have a license. You better get used to the idea too, since Orion will almost certainly have flares at least as large as the VE's. //

While reading through some of this tripe, I was thinking that if the VE had a Ford badge on it there wouldn't be a single negative comment about it. People are just looking for the slightest thing to pick on the VE, simply because of the badge it wears and no other reason. |

I hear it doesnt handle too well, feels heavy on the road.
The headlights are all done by Hella for Ford and Holden so no big surprise they look very similar.

just because they're made by the same company doesn't mean they should look the same, don't they have designers anymore? :P
