the other guys beat me too it

the only way I do it is to have a chat with the shops you're keen on. ask the questions you want answered and see how they answer it. if it sounds like a load of bollocks then move onto the next place.

I've never used them but I've heard good and bad stories (which is any shop including the ones I've used in the past)
the only stupid question is the one you don't ask and the only way you learn from mistakes is to make them.

I believe the cop car blew after it was filled with E85 by a cop who usually used a Commodore that uses E85

United definitely call their fuel "Unleaded E10" which as we all know is 91 Ron with 10% ethanol added see here:

http://www.unitedpetroleum.com.au/un...l/unleaded-e10

Then, they separately list "P100" and "Premium 98 with ethanol" as two other fuels that contain unleaded base with 10% but do not refer to it as E10 at all... We know those two fuels are 98 and 95 mixed with 10% ethanol but its not called E10, so I hear what both yourself and Mick are saying but the way its marketed to the general public the 10% ethanol naming is always going to be a point of contention.

Regarding tuning vs ethanol content, considering that NSW has mandatory minimum ethanol content in ALL gasoline fuels at 6%, its safe to assume that even going from 98 octane to P100 in NSW the biggest AFR change you will see is actually only around 2%.... theres no such thing as a 14.64:1 Stoich car in NSW anymore!

If a car has been tuned THAT CLOSE (within 2% AFR of catastrophic failure via detonation or excessive EGT purely on AFR (not octane because P100 is higher) then the tune was going to cost you an engine at some point anyway. If you buy E10 then you didnt read the sign properly.

The fuel isn't the problem, the ignorance is.

As a side note, USA is mandatory 10% ethanol now, the cars are released from factory with Stoich set at 14.08 (Mustangs etc) and by 2020 we will be the same.

Be interesting to see if Ford Australia redo the engine calibration on the Mustang next year

People from adelaide are giving advice on Tune shops in Western Sydney, All ive said is thats poor form.. They have no basis to do that.

Poor form to comment....have you owned a PD Boss before?

Ill say it again as per last post...much better places to go and a opinion is allowed on a forum .
Ive never rubbished PD supercharged cars, just that a Centri can hold its own and is a better fit for a stock unopened motor. Dont twist my words...Your being a troll. Also its not for this thread so keep it for another day..

Who has more credibility here...

- Some bloke from south Australia who has read third hand accounts from roughie XR6T owners about intune which is based in Western sydney

or

- The HULK who has modded multiple cars in that shop! (V8s and I6 Turbos) over 10+ years of reliable motoring, all sorts of mods done with no issues to report.

Its funny isnt it.

That's very, um, er...well...stupid really.

This is a Internet Forum, a place were enthusiasts and knowledgeable people get together to share knowledge on subjects. Something like the reputation of a tuner isn't barricaded by postcodes or city limits. What if someone in another state wanted a reliable tuner and was prepared to travel?

Is it Friday already?

Adding the unleaded bit before E10 is the key here...that separates it from the e10 premium Unleaded therefore I still stand by no one fuel called "E10" by itself....it will have a unleaded stipulation beforehand or P100.

Mate please keep to the thread content. The OP asked if Intune was a decent workshop, through first hand experience I have answered YES, others with real experience of dealing with John have agreed.... people or trolls like you from the other side of the country using 35yr old dynos, have come out of the woods to rubbish Intune shop with absolutely no basis. Pull your head in.

Otherwise, seeing that your family is in the Dyno business, Ill ask you some tough questions about South Australian Dynos and their mysterious 25% power multiplier.

Seen the intune workshop ute run consistent times over the years at Sydney Dragway.
Also my mates F6 pinged and made less power then stock, and the tune was messy when retuned.

I have seen CMS sponsored cars run varying ET every run, some decent numbers but never consistent. But all their customers I know would only let CMS touch their car.

Only ever heard how good Autotech is only complaint I have ever heard is they can be slow to get projects finished if your a mate.

Over 130mph full weight from 390rwkw using no hi-stall...next please

Do your homework before talking....or as they say sometimes better to keep mouth shut than remove what little doubt is left in our minds ;)

Hopefully the HQ runs deep into the 5s again at the Nationals and the N/A manual firebird runs 8

You have forgotten that we have a track now and many many cars have run the mph for the power/weight so you my lad are trolling....I may have before a little and that's the difference between me and you.....Ill admit it ;)

To the OP go talk to john at intune and form your own opinion. I'm happy to show you my car as a testament to the quality of the work.

I wouldn't believe a thing said from someone living in South Australia about workshops in Western Sydney. Like asking the Eskimos how it is in the Caribbean. I'll let you also form your opinion on South Australian dynos.
