Thats why I drive a Pulsar. If it gets dinged I won't cry about it for weeks. Makes driving my pride and joy even more fun because it is not as often.

Neither do I. Low intelligent act for sure. A friend of mine a few years back had 4ltrs of oil based houseold paint tipped over his car. Ended up going through insurance to repaint the car it still cost him on the premium. The insurance companies then pass on the costs to all other insurures.

I can feel your pain. My car is always parked out in front of my house and has been vandalised many times - probably by some tweenage brats on their bikes.

********* pricks.

I was at a Party I wile ago when a person reversed into another guy’s BA XR6 denting the drivers door badly, I didn’t see it thou I was told buy somebody who had seen it and new who had done it.

I immediately went and had a look at the damage before going and telling the poor bloke what had happened to his car.

He was fairly ****ed off being he had had the car only a week, any way I then went back to ask the whiteness agene to confirm who had hit the car.

The guy then plays dumb about the whole thing. Saying who hit what car, no I didn’t see anything. I tell you what I just about flattened him for that.

What kind of dick head tells you he witnessed the whole thing and then denies ever seeing it to protect some ******** he hardly knows.

After that I went and asked the other people who new the guy who allegedly smashed the car if they could call him or tell me where he lives so we could go and see him in the morning, everybody I asked was like, No he wouldn’t do a thing like that and refused to tell me where he lived.

As I was only semi invited to this party I couldn’t rely do much more, the host of the party was trying to his best to help me out but know body who new the offender would talk, I tell you i have never met such a bunch weak C**ts all in my life.

If I found out where he lived I would have gone around there and extracted.

A. Admission of guilt and money to pay for the damage he had caused> or
B. Smashed the absoult Crap out of his car so he knows what it is like

Back in 2000 I'd had a 1996 VS commie for only a couple of days before someone booted in my front right guard so badly that I couldn't open the drivers door, also parked in front of a mates place.

i had an xr8 the same colour as that . the day that CRAIG LOWNDES switched from holden to ford . that weekend we were living in our newlt built house . we couldnt drive our car into the garage cause we didnt have a driveway . it was out the front for 6 weeks . the day before the concreter poured the concrete the same thing happened to our car . except the 1/2 brick went through the rear windscreen , hit the dashboard and smashed it and bounced up and smashed the front windscreen as well . had to wait 4 MONTHS for a new dash to come from overseas.
I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL DUDE. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben that is horrible! I was so shocked when I saw this thread! Can I come over there and help you catch them? That makes me so mad.

I hope it can be fixed up ok too, but that is almost not the point, is it? People just dont have any respect these days for other people's things and seems like little shits these days just dont care about ruining other people's property as long as they can alleviate their boredom or emo rage or whatever it is they have.

I hate to say it, but I would expect them to be young and aimless and stupid. And their parents equally so.

Disgusting, Im very sorry to hear this Ben.

I actually caught a lowlife of the indigenous persuasion syphoning from my XY one night years ago.

Grabbed him in the act with garden hose and can & held him up against the fence & waited for the police.

It was the third time in 2 weeks. (damn non locking GT caps and petrol sniffing epidemics)

Lucky for me they are always after the petrol and not inclined to do the extra work like vandalise or torch it, although the GT cap has been scratched up a bit.

I asked him if he had done it to my car before.
He said no - he was told about my car at a local camp as an easy target.

I told him I would say hi to the rest of his family in gaol and make sure they were aware of how happy I was with his stunt. (I am a Screw)

My car has not been touched since.

I think someone has had something like this happen to them at one time or another and its a bloody disgrace that it always happens to honest people making an honest living. The 1st and last time i left my car somewhere was bathurst weekend this year and the drivers side window got completely smashed out and around 100 dollars plus my wallet was taken. They are only after the money as the 300 dollar head unit and 200 dollar sunnies that were right next to the wallet and ash tray where not touched. If only we could catch them in the act and actually be able to do something about it. either they are to young to be charged or of different race and nothing is done at all like what happened to a mate of mine at the SAME PLACE mine was smashed. :

This reminds me of a car i saw on the way home from the pub. Someone had covered every horizontal panel (including windscreen) of a BA falcon with slices of bread. It was a fleet car which belonged to a coal mine, so i doubt anyone was too upset.

i agree with you about not having the time of day for vandels, thiefs ect

i was at sport stadium when a tool done a doughnut on really big stones flicking them up not damaging paintwork but chipping my windscreen, but the one to the left and right of me had a fair bit of damage. i followed him and well , got an eye for an eye.

A mate of mine have a VT Commode which he walked out to one morning and saw a similar thing; smashed rear window. The car was parked backwards in the driveway - i.e. rear window furtherest from the road. He assumed someone had broken it. However when getting it repaired the installer said it was quite common on some cars, some sought of thermal shock or something ..

Agree..
Glass can contain a defect that will cause it to
spontaneously explode after a period of years, with no obvious
cause. This is often seen in auto glass when for no obvious reason
a rear window or side window will explode as if it has been shot out.
It seems like the presence of nickel sulfate or some such contamination
is the cause.
There was also something in the news a while back focusing on Nissan Pathfinder rear windows spontaneously exploding.
Wouldn't the coach-bolt be inside the car if it were the culprit?

i'm really sorry to hear that mate, I konw how you feel...i just had my XR6 broken into via the quarter window....glass everywhere but luckily didnt damage the leather which actually made cleaning up a lot easier.
I had hidden my bag under the counter out of sight but i think they went for the GPS system, found they couldnt remove it instantly and saw the bag when they were in there.

I had parked the car in a cul de sac with plenty of people around in North Sydney for an hour. i lost a laptop, $1000 MP3 player, $500 headphones, lots of other accessories and I hope the company insurance covers it.....a week after my XC was hit by an 8 tonne trailer. Crappy week, I can tell you!

Yep, i too have experienced that heart sinking moment where you notice something "doesnt look right"... that awful feeling that just gets worse as you approach the car.

Some time after and i still get the occasional piece of glass turning up in the car.

Sad as it may be, its part and parcel of owning a nice car. It's nothing new. If you catch em in the act, make em pay and make them remember it.

Otherwise...

Life goes on.
