on full licence for 2 months, 1st car was an ED Futura (bought when i turned 17) - 4.0L i converted it 5.0L a couple months before i turned 19, - loud and low but i keep my nose clean and the cops leave me alone

Got my p's in 92 and first car was a 3 year old suzuki swift gti 5 door hatch but within a year I also had a 351 (US 4V clevo) worked XA coupe with crazy exhaust and cam.

Well, my first car shits on you all!
P's in 1985 - DATSUN 180B (4 Cylinder 1800) with black vinyl roof (sexy). I never put it on a dyno for fear it might break the rollers. It was the classic dim sim on wheels. My first drive was my dad's hz kingswood (5.0L V8). Dad sold it b4 I got on my P's so I wouldn't kill myself damnit... |

got my P's in 2005, got my first car in 04, got for nothing off a friend a 85 Mitsubishi Colt, had the 1.6 big bore version which produced 58.1 killerwatts, and used every bit of then to get to 100 in under 20secs...now a EF falcon

I got my P's in 2005 and my car history to date is as follows... in order...
1991 Nissan Pintara Executive 2.0 Auto 2000 Ford Econovan Maxi MWB Auto 2005 Ford Fiesta WP Zetec 1.6 Manual (still have it) 2002 Ford Econovan Maxi MWB Auto However mine was dictated not by parental influence but by the vehicle restrictions. Did they not exist I would have, rather then a brand new Fiesta, bought most likely an AUII TE50, if I couldn't stretch for the AUIII.

Got my P's in 2002
First car 1994 Honda Legend After 2 years i'd had enough and bought an XR6T whilst still on my P's. Was a good boy for a full year, kept it all stock. As soon as the P's were off i wen't stupid. I don't think that the cars are the problem, it's what peer pressure does to you. If your weak, you'll do whatever your incorouged to do.

Obtained license in '06 and bought a 1985 Ford Meteor GC2 Ghia. 1.6 litre. Not a bad car. Backyard job of my dads work mate. Dual fuel, tinted windows, central locking, solex hi-tech lock, recon. engine, recon. gearbox, new tyres. Gonna keep it for a while. Haven't had any problems other than the muffler which cracked recently.

Got my ps about 5 months ago. Drove a shopping trolley rice rocket 87 Nissan EXA. I then saw the light and bought a 95 EF Futura which I have been driving around for the last month

1987, Mini Clubman GT, Aussie built. This car was RARER than a Phase 3 (283 made). Damn shame it wasn't quite as fast! Had a ball with it, though, until an inbreed in a CommonWhore rear ended it. Many years later, same CommonWhore was getting a Pink Slip. Mechanic said that "your son has hit something in it, and it needs this list of repairs". After the guy left in disgust, the mechanic was amazed when I said that I knew EXACTLY what he hit!
1989, Sigma 2.6, 1981 model, so not so old then. Taken out at a stop sign by a drunk driver in another Holden (Gemini this time) 1990, Toyota Landcruiser SWB diesel. Not called a truck for no reason! 1991, Mitsubishi Magna Elite. STILL the best car I have ever owned. 1997, Ford NC Fairlane V8. Lemon. 'Nuff said. 2000, Mitsubishi Magna TE 3.0 wagon. Top machine, taken out by another inbreed when I moved to Sydney. Nearly took my wife out as well - she now has ribs and sternum that tells her when it's going to rain. 2004, Mitsubishi Verada 3.5 sedan. Top machine, now running dual fuel. Will have it until it dies under me! 2006, Ford Falcon Longreach ute, factory dual fuel. Options were good, but should have looked for longer as mine had issues, now fixed. Nothing on the Verada, it's just a work and camping truck.

Got my P's late 2002.
Still on them now :jab: lost licence once, looks like its gone again : i drove watever was going first six months of my p's. Old man had a mechanical bussiness and a car yard so i was set. Mainly utes or standard falcons, was the odd hsv / fpv to take for the weekend : Bought a v8 fairmont ghia after bout 6 months. that was midly worked, alot of cosmetic bull ****. Turned that into a project i never finished and then bought a BA XR8 when i was 18 and 6months. That was pretty crazy i went wild in it for first few months till i started get fines and the local law enforcement new knew me pretty well. I eased up for a while then bout 6 months ago SUPERCHARGED the XR8. That explains the loss of licence coming up. I dont drive silly, just love the occasional burnout or late night race off the lights in a backstreet/freeway with my mates without being out of control. Cheers, Chad

it surprises me the number of 17/18 yr olds up that drive around in flashy late model AU or BA XRs, where does the money for these things come from!!! some of them must be racking up a bit of debt early on

well i got my lic in 2001. prior to that i had a 302 xe esp as my first car when i was 17, i got rid of that when i got my p's and bought a 351 xe esp. back then it was doin 14.1. ive still got that car since then and now it currently runs a 10.50
ive always been a rev head. my parents didnt want me to buy a v8 for the my first car or even when i was on my p's but i just had to have one ;)

I got my Ls on September 2nd 1987 (16th birthday), then I go my Ps on September 16th 1987 (two weeks minimum on your Ls, and they had a cancellation, so I booked my test for Ps the day I passed my Ls).
Full licence September 16th, 1988. Age 17 years and 2 weeks. For 16th birthday received car from parents. 1981 TF Cortina Ghia, 4.1L manual, Hermitage (burgundy) duco and silver velour interior. Aftermarket aircon system, aftermarket sound system, full exhaust, 15 inch wheels (that was big then!) with Pirelli rubber. Upgraded brakes and suspension, was a bit lower than stock. It was fun. It guzzled fuel too much, especially the way I drove it, so Dad got me a cheaper runabout to complement it. Was a 1985 gold 2.6L SE Sigma manual. Had 5000km on the clock when he bought it off a mate who had bought it for his wife, but she never learned manual, so he had just driven it to and from the shops occasionally. Was not even run in, and was like a brand new car. Used a lot less fuel. I would drive one each day, alternately, depending on what mood I was in. I was in an accident that was not completely my fault a year later and wrote off the Sigma. Dad bought me a 1975 2.0L white manual Toyota Corona after that. I bashed it into trees, poles and whatever else and the thing kept going. Absolutely unbreakeable. Got sick of it and traded it in for a black 1984 GSR Sigma 2.6L manual. Was the most unreliable POS Ive ever had or seen, but it went well and was nice to drive when it went at all. Ended up busting a timing chain on that at 110kmh under full load driving up Willunga Hill to Victor Harbour one day. You can imagine the damage. Bought a 1999 Festiva brand new. GLXi 5 door, 5 speed, 1.5L. Bright Sapphire (darkish blue purple metallic) with a few bits and pieces. It was the cheapo single parent/student mobile. Was extremely cheap to run and also one of the most reliable cars I have ever driven. Had it for 4 years and not a thing went wrong with it. Then got the BA. Next will be a Typhoon or a GT of some description. Maybe next year or the year after.

I got my licence in Canberra in 87. We never had P Plates when i got my licence. We were on l's, sat the test, then went onto full licence. One cool thing about Canberra in 87 was that if you couldn't drive a manual, you did the test in an Auto, after 1 year, you automatically got your licence upgraded to drive a manual. :

Some of my mates are like me and now after a few years, have a nice new car, and some like the Uni students still have old heaps, then others who just don’t care about cars that much just drive a Neat Normal car. I am Glad I had my Little Toymota Corona as my first car, it was good fun to **** around in and it had enough power so you could have a bit of fun on the gravel and wet roads wile learning how to control a car. Used to get it out in the back Paddocks at my mates farm a few times during winter and would just give it Hell, Wicked Fun Big clear paddocks some right buy the hwy and you are there pulling sick cercle work and the Cop's carn't touch you…. LMAO, There was a slick clay pan down in the bottom of one of the paddocks and you would go down and thrash throe it sliding all over the show, then if ya got bogged go and grab the tractor and pull the car out, and do it all over agene. Best fun ever for a 17-18 year old p plater and it meant you didn’t feel the need to go out and do stupid chit on the Public roads. Then once you got bord of thrashing ya car, hook the trailer onto the tractor get the drag chain, Full up the Farm boss (Chan saw) and fell some dead trees, Drag some chit around light a big Fire. best bit about it was his folks couldn't give a rat's **** LOL Best comment ever, from his old lady "You boys sertenly do a lot of burnouts" LOL Gold |

Got my P's in Jan of '03. Bought a stock standard ED Gli, I still have it, but it's now manual and turbo. I've only done around 200,000 kays since I've had my licence, but probably another 100,000 before that.

P's in '97 - Whilst on P's I had:
- '85 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon - complete with fridge and velour interior. - '88 Toyota Corolla - complete with subwoofers (fully sick moite) When off P's I then went to a Galant VR4 Turbo and Nissan Silvia.

My first car was a coupe. A Leyland Marina Super Deluxe coupe! I got it off my dad when I got my license in 1986, he used to work at Leyland. I really wanted my grandfather's Escort panel van, that ended up being my second car. When I traded it on a TE Cortina it had 69,000Km on it. When I crashed the TE I bought my GXL off a mate.
