That 1/4 mile time looks a little off, doesn't it? You don't have any 60fts do you?
If it is or not those are some impressive engine figures from a 3.0L.

Sequential? Yikes!! Is that a semi or full two pedal job?
Clutch off the line ala Superstock style or foot brake job and hold on? :

Cheers.

Its a classic style sequential. Clutch for first gear and reverse, no clutch after that.

Don't have 60-foot times, no... I wish I did though.

Thanks, that sounds like fun, get the launch of a manual but the shifts of a performance auto. Best of both worlds. Isn't that something similar to what the V8 Supercars have. Some gears I can see clutch work (1st, 2nd & 3rd?) after that no left leg movement. Also, that don't lift during gear changes do they in V8SC?

Sorry to the original poster for the hi-jack...... :

V8 Supercars have 6-speed H-pattern Hollinger manuals. From what I can remember from when Motor drove 00 Motorsport's AU Falcon and asked Lowndes about it...

For upshifts...

Straight shift (1-2, 3-4, 5-6) = no clutch, no lift
Diagonal shift (2-3, 4-5) = clutch, no lift

Not sure on downshifts though. Not quite as effective as what's in that Porsche, no. But then, not quite as expensive either :

LOL! Thanks mate, sounds like a lot of fun....be weird to get use to.
I wonder if you did use the clutch for diagonal shifts if it would hurt the box or make a grinding noise? lol

Cheers.

Goal was/still is to built 50, they've built 13. 37 to go. Basically a road going car of the 1994 winner of the LeMans 24 Hours.

Here's a stat or two to think about... in the time it takes a Ferrari Enzo or McLaren F1 to do the 1/4 mile, this car is doing 300km/h, and in the time it takes a Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron to hit 300km/h, this car is doing 400km/h.

Absolutley the most awesome car of all time if you ask me, and such a shame the McLaren F1 stole its potential fame simply because of a production number.

wow, now that is fast. still doesnt stop me wanting the saleen either. i'll put it on the list with the saleen and ford gt when i win the lotto lol

Test Drive Unlimited on the 360 has this car...same price...same stock specs.....but you can mod it to 100bhp - and it will punch over 420kmh...but stock it has exactly the same specs.....i know its just a game but it sounds like a jet on boost and its scary to drive...

Yes, I saw the ad for it coming up at the end of the last episode. The look on Jeremy's face while he is driving it is classic! Looking forward to that one... I'd like to see Glenn Ridge drive one... LOL.

Call me a spaz if you wish, but that car doesn't interest me one bit.

I would prefer a nice Falcon. Really, I would.

I am not interested in the exclusivity that a price tag may give me, or owning a car whose performance I can't enjoy in a country called, "Australia", where the maximum marked limit in most places is 110.

No, I'll stick with my Aussie built junk. And I'll be happy. Very happy.

The engine is "just" a Chev pushrod V8 so it has a cross against its name right from the start Even a Falcon has overhead cams these days. Its too long and too heavy too low tech to really be an outstanding supercar and the price tag is way too high for what you get. There are any number of manufacturers that make an equivalent for a third of the price... the Ultima and Noble for example. Or if you want a more refined equivalent, try a Lamborgini Murcielago LP640 at half the price.
I thought the engine was Ford based, as Saleen are associated with Ford. Positive its not a Chev.

Saleen are associated with all US cars. Steve has built more then just Ford's.

The S7 Twin Turbo has never actually hit 400km/h. It is still an unsubstantiated claim. The Veyron has hit 407km/h, which it is electronically limited to, hits 100km/h in 2.5 seconds, 1/4 mile in 9.8 seconds... and well, demolishes the S7. That's why its regarded as the fastest.
