Large Cars To Be Taxed More!!!

All the wise cracks and having a go at them, there is a lot of truth to what they say. I dont think branding them all as wastes of space is either fair or necessary. A lot of them DO lead by example, spending a lot of money on efficient cars, water saving house devices and even cycle/walk to places. I think remarks here should be more directed at how we can justify such a tax, ie alternatives. Just calling them all Greenies will not solve the problem for either side. There is a lot of truth to what they say, we do need to help the environment..

Before bringing up these time-wasting and pointless ideas, the government might want to think about their half-arsed stance on the whole issue. Until recently they were giving huge import duty concessions to 4WD wagons, whilst giving nothing of the sort to hybrid-electric, diesel or other highly efficient passenger cars.

How many government fleet cars are on LPG? What effort did the government put into making Holden's Ecommodore concept a reality? How eager are they to lead the world in terms of hydrogen commercialisation? It seems they like having their little earner from all the large vehicles filling up on finite petrol supplies and filling their coffers with the taxes.

This is no different to the Bracks government's view on road safety, where the emphasis is generally on using it as an excuse to rob the average man of more dollars, rather than implementing real solutions. It's just one disgrace after another.

there are better fuels out there that we could be using but the oil companies wouldnt make as much profit ,thats why where using carcinogenic unleaded, the goverment doesent care because they get more than 50 percent tax for every litre we buy,ala GST....and they will never care if we pay more ,lpg is cleaner and has a good octane rating will work fine in perfomance application, we could be fueling our cars for a qaurter the price, as for the greenies trees still need to be cut down so they can wipe there bums as well

thats how i look at it.

A properly looked after falcon or commodore is going to use less fuel than a small car revving its tits off to move anywhere.

As for these greenies they can suck balls.
