Man there's a lot of tools on here! Thanks for posting mate, its ALWAYS interesting to know what the competition is like. Definitely one to consider when looking at small cars. What are they worth to buy?

They are around $40k, less than a Golf GTi but with the same engine.

And padels.

Well thanks for the review of the Jetta. It is always good to hear about different cars. Ok the review wasn't magazine worthy but still, nice car. Yes this is a Ford forum but I would have thought any make could be discussed here. Very sad if this isn't the case. I think a lot of people on this forum need to grow up.

Glad u liked it mate, they are a great car to drive. And for what its worth, ten times better than any Ford on the Australian market. I might be a ford man, and yes i do drive a VW, but i turned down every BA-BF i drove (Including a manual BA2 XR8) and bought my Polo GTI. It may be slightly slower in a straight line, but it holds its own, and far more pace through the corners. Also has exceptional fit and finish, unlike any ford i have looked at.

Glad to see another person on here who can respect another make of vehicle for what it is. Good on ya mate!

LOL....you need to get some driving lessons if you think a polo GTI can "hold its own" even against a BF XT!

Yeah it might corner harder, but thats natural, its tiny and set up for that.

My mum has a Polo, and its a POS, been back to the dealership so many times its not funny, even had the dash out for some electrical gremlin, so VW is not immune to mistakes.

Ok first things first, why do i need driving lessons if im beating an XT??? according to u, i should struggle to keep up :

Secondly, i never said that VW's are immune to anything, all i was stating was the fit and finish is by far and away ten times better than any ford i have driven to date.

Thirdly, My brother OWNES a BF Typhoon, and has been back to get things either replaced or fixed more times than i care to mention.

Fourthly, i have my mate Ross, and another Mate Luc, one Ownes a BA XR6 turbo Manual, which i am at the back door of at the end of a drag strip, and the other owns an XR5 turbo which i am in front of most of the time.

So, considering i have real world facts on most of these vehicles that you have all stated, which car is the better vehicle?

So you have some time slips then?

I would be confident enough to say that even on a race track, my Ghia would do a better time than the Polo.

Its a good little car, but seriously, dont make me do a steffo and pull out some stat sheets. :

And I dont know why you even compared the cars, they are polar opposites.

Actually heres a challenge, come to heathcote on the 26th for the AFF Drag Day and see how your GTi fairs. Do we want a wager?

Mate, i would love to, unfortunatly, i have John Bowe Drive day on, so i wont be able to make it. Whats your terminal speed at the end of the quarter?? According to your sig its a 17.2 @ 80.78mph with a dud injector. Maybe u should have a look in a wheels mag about my car. Also keep in mind that most people can beat the times set by wheels because the car doesnt have two people in it when its recorded.
