I had the car serviced this week and nothing extra although have confirmed the clutch is on the way out officially though I suspected the throwout was failing.
As far as I know as I bought it in 2006 and it is a MY03 so it is the original clutch that has 260+k kms on so I have had a good run Engine or gearbox I'm out and selling it as a roller but clutch I can work with. They say it is in very good condition with no worries otherwise and they see a lot of them. |

Chicken feed to him. Wonder when he'll dish all the secrets of the Democrats he's been collating.

I was able to stop a clueless SUV driver from merging into a freshly minted L-plate motorcyclist.
I’d been “monitoring” the bike from a few seconds behind, as his lane position wasn’t ideal and stability low - but he had every right to be safe on the road from blind drivers. Some years ago I witnessed an “impossible” near miss involving an inexperienced L-plate bike rider and a car; one of those events which still upsets me to contemplate. It was good to be able to intervene today, the ute has quite raucous horns out of an Alfa and it pulled the SUV driver up from completing his crash-bound manoeuvre. |

It wasn’t loud, per se, and didn’t look modded. Just a LAMS - approved learner sports bike.

The battle lines are being drawn to take on Australian Rail and Track and save the unique historic goods shed at Euroa station.
The bastards were about to pull it down without notice but the people of Euroa managed to have a court injunction stop it. People of Euroa 1 ARTC 0 This mob just like to p*ss every town off along the mainline.

Good on you (collectively).
Watch for the divide-and-conquer strategy that undermines support by splitting your group via internal arguments. EG, big fights on how to preserve/relocate/repurpose etc. |

For some reason this reminds me of when the nsw goveco moved out of govener maquarie tower and the mob i worked with was doing the strip out make good. One bloke found a piece of fishing line hanging out very descreetly from a ceiling tile of the transport ministers old office. So he looked in the ceiling and attached was a usb stick. He thought it would contain videos of the transport minister banging his secretary. That wasnt the case. It was just 1988 press releases about the tangaras. None of that makes sense as both usb sticks and govener maquarie tower did not exist in 1988. And why would public knowledge like press releases need to be hidden?

Going through my inbox and un-subscribing to countless companies trying to sell me crap I don't need or want. Most were from one off purchase I made for birthday or Christmas gifts, but have been spammed each and every day with emails ever since.
I would suggest a less pushy approach might yield these companies a better response instead of sending one to three emails day in, day out. Put it this way, if Detailing Shed send me an email once a week or once a month about upcoming sales or new products, then I spend time reading/scanning over the email, which then often leads me to following the link to their website. On the other hand, let's say Bonds or Total Tools, well I get so much mail from them every day that I ignore them, they get deleted without even opening the message. At which point, why even bother in the first place. I can't be the only one doing this.

I bought a novel for the missus from Booktopia. From that day onward I got caned with emails so as you do, searched the emails for Unsubscribe button. But there wasnt one. My frustration was amplified by searching their website for a way to unsubscribe....the result? A suggestion of dozens of books for sale to help with this intrusive problem. I think Im still subscribed. |

There should be an opt-out within the emails themselves.

It's a legal requirement to have an opt-out / unsubscribe on each email that is sent.
"To comply with the Spam Act, your emails must contain an easy way for people to unsubscribe. It also needs to be clearly worded so people know what they need to do and it shouldn't require users to provide any more information or set up an account." https://www.adma.com.au/resources/3-...20an%20account. The highlighted part above is hugely variable. Some have it worded simply "unsubscribe" and have it easily recognizable at the bottom of the email. However, many have it worded ambiguously, such as "update your preferences". Some take you to a general "contact us" page that is not obvious what to do next. Some are hidden among other actions that are not an obvious link to the vendors website. Most have the wording in tiny lettering. As mentioned earlier, the spamming ends up being something to ignore rather than being of actual interest or a leader to sales.

I have a Gmail account that I use for signing up to stuff, it has a vacation setting so every email I receive through it they get a pre written response saying that they are wasting their time as its a unmonitored account, I check it from time to time and just do a quick delete all to keep it tidy.
Having it keeps my private email quite tidy and I'm lucky to get a few spam emails a month which I just block without opening. |

Anyhow, i thought my ex girlfriend was a bit nuts as she used the oven for everything. She thought i was crazy as steaks and snausages go on the fry pan (if no bbq is availabe). Her opinion was stove is only for boiling the pot for pasta or soup. Well, for the most part she is wrong, however, i interneted the googles, fan forced oven at 200°c 25 minutes turn once. Well it does a very good job and is easy to cook snausages. Its 220°c for non fan forced oven.

It's now 5 weeks since I started my new biologic.
My specialist who I only see every 6 months asked if I was willing to try these and see how I go. Seeing as the current injections weren't doing anything I agreed and started that week with a daily tablet, so how did it go? I've gone from 1 to 1 1/2 boxes of Comfarol forte a week to one. That's one tablet, over 5 weeks. Finally able to sleep and wake up not hung over, able to start and finish stuff and generally feel like a human again. Best thing is I was finally able to get a script approved by the PBS, so now its only $4 not the stupid dollars the chemist quoted. Now if I could find another med to fix my back I'd be really happy but thats only dreaming, you can't fracture vertebra and herniate disc and expect to bounce back at 64, so I'll take what I have and be happy. Stay safe. Terry aka Tbro |

Wasn’t sure if to post here or in the cancer thread, but an 81 year old mate has just come successfully through urgent surgery today to remove a tumour.
He’s a part-time lawnie, I credit constant physical activity as part of the reason for his good result. |
