I agree. The new XR8 looks good and its good to hear they have new seats which are LONG overdue.

I would bet new seats = new covers. Would be good to see new ones completely though.

So was there a press release today or was it just a taste for the media that was leaked last night with the 2 images?

There is just something about seeing an aussie made performance car behind heavy camouflage that gets my mind racing and my blood pumping.

Sadly that's now gone but that picture above is bloody awesome. I have to say, without having seen the real deal yet and only CGI's but they have really nailed it this time round.

I think the facelift is a winner, albeit not too drastic, it is quite a nice change. I will be ordering myself a xr8 in white with all the bells and whistles as soon as I can.
But that V8 supercar looks horrendous.

A lot of mixed reactions on Ford Australia's Facebook site.

Amongst the positive thoughts are negatives like "looks like a Lancer", "FG looked better" and "sack the designers" etc.

Guess you can't please everyone. Keen on seeing the XT/G6E models, but IMHO the XR models have been bland since BF. The new XR8 looks quite appealing though.

One dodgy chop option...I would have preferred the blue oval in the grill personally.

I love the new look, isn't as aggressive as I was hoping for...but it does look very good. I was tossing up between this and the mustang as my next car...just waiting to see the rear end and the interior. It needs to be a very convincing step up from my FG xr6t in the interior for me to feel like its a new cockpit though.

Also, will the v8 supercar be allowed to have the DRL's? It would be nice if it did...

Ford would be better off releasing hi res images (photos) of the new falcon rather than the ones they have.
All it does is get possible future customers offside and then they go out and set their sights on something else without actually realising that what is shown is really nice looking in real life.

Would be better to show real images IMHO.

That's the problem with social media, every moron's voice will be heard. A reasonable person would wait to see the car in the metal before suggesting to sack the designers.

Agree about the CGI images. See EB GTcentre brochure image and compare to the new xr8 one. Love the EB but its as though the camo video, which is great, was made by one marketing team and these images by another.. btw Hello everyone, long time member, seldom poster. Been following this exciting thread in what will be a final chance to comment on a new Falcon... Does anyone have any info if the final falcon will come with isofix? Or rear headrests?

Not everyone you know is ya friend and will say nice things about you.

Just like everyone on this Ford forum is not necessarily a Ford fan. I'd say there could be some jealous fans of other brands stirring the pie.

I think you will find the majority of people will appreciate it for what it is. A Bloody great effort from Ford Australia considering the lack of funds they had at there disposal. Let's hope people vote with their wallets and send the Falcon out with increased sales numbers. Be nice to see the remaining workers jobs safe till 2016.

Exactly. Half the people bagging the car on social media have a dodgy vt commo as a profile picture! Remarkable what they've achieved on a shoestring budget and should augur well for Ford Aus being involved in future designs due to being cost effective.
