I can confirm through a relative that some of the new models will have black headlining... Yay!! Bug bear of mine for ages and one of the few things that has annoyed me!

I'm really interested to see how their new ICC functions compared to previous models, I know a lot of FG owners will be happy if that annoying hiss is fixed, maybe a few good tweaks.

Because if you lose the immaturity and read that he did say some similarities you would notice that whilst not exact, the new Falcon definitely resembles the CJ Lancer around the headlight/grill/bonnet. Heck, the leading edge of the headlight and above the top grill to the bonnet line are almost identical! I've owned (and washed many times) our CJ for over 5 years now and during the months of build up to the new Falcon through spy pics etc. I've always thought that area closely resembles the Lancer. You need glasses (or lose the blue tinted ones) if you think otherwise. To make it clear, Ford may have very well come up with the design completely themselves and that's fine but you have to admit there are a few areas not far from the CJ. In my opinion it's a good thing, I've always liked the aggressive look of our CJ and it turns out everyone else that has been a fan of the CJ Lancer has been 6 years+ ahead of the Falcon |

Yes, they appear to be CGIs but they're obviously good CGIs that accurately represent the real thing. Geezz I bet if they did reveal photos, you all would be complaining that they didn't release CGIs.... |

agree. now lets hope the interior looks the part too. sync 2 will make its australian debut with this car along with DAB. But i hope it will have double stitched interior like the euros. Car has to be good if they are going to do numbers till 16. otherwise, i cant see them going past eofy 2015!

There could be a range of reasons they haven't released photos, from build quality of prototypes to colours of prototypes or just marketing.
Either way I for one am very happy they shared CGIs this far out from launch. Thanks Ford

I'd rather the blind, non-enthusiasts say it looks the same as a Lancer than saying it looks like a Mazda 2 *cough* VF *cough*

Hmmmm...Ford must've nicked their global design cues from Lancer. DAMN!
Seriously, who cares anyway. The unique factors in car design are long gone in the mainstream, there are only so many ways you can package a rectangular box. But the new Falcon just does it that little bit better than most.

A Rough chop to make the xr6 look a bit better I Reckon the new front looks good i think that xr6 shot they gave us was a bit underwhelming but should look good in the flesh.

Go look at any base model Falcon and a Fairmont Ghia or LTD from years-gone-by and see the difference where the latter has far more soundproofing in various areas. Point of removing the bonnet bulge was?

I was the one that done that, just to see if it would look any better than the original xr6 cgi image (which looked a little plain/non-aggressive) i think the gold colour made it look better aswell as the xr8 cgi is obviously the more detailed/refined pic of the two.

I think it could do with a little bit of chrome on the vehicle, like on the bottom window ledges and maybe some chrome surround on the grill or fog lights, and I know we haven’t seen the rear yet but a chrome boot garnish or such would set it of nicely.
I bet the G6E has a bit of these chrome moulds about it. |

That being said, I fail to see how frameless windows and pull out door handles are seen as being "ahead of the game". Mercedes-Benz has had them since the W116 S-class of 1972. Yes, it's different, but more advanced? I prefer the look of the EF/EL to that generation Magna.
