Can we make it happen? All of us chip in to purchase a brand new Falcon, and ship it to the states, see what the locals in the US (cheap labour) can do to adapt it to LHD, get Russ to fly over and start getting deposits. At least we can say we tried. If australian labour costs are too high, they could build the Falcon in mexico, at least the name will live on, because it deserves to.

Does anyone know what the raw material cost is to produce a Falcon? Did a guided tour of Geelong engine plant in 2001 with school, and the tour guide indicated that a base AU Forte costs in the ballpark of $12k to $15k to produce. Unsure if this included labour as well.

Didn't a past Ford Australia CEO ship across a G6E Turbo back in 2008 because there was nothing like it in America. I wonder what happened to it?

yeh, but I would think there would be a way to develop the falcon a bit cheaper using more global components. I'll admit I wasn't including the factory operating costs, realistically I think over $1billion.

Mullaly drove a G6E Turbo and said he would have it as a daily driver.

Nothing happened.

They did have one over there as a test vehicle, a few drove it, and it was crushed.

Probably nothing, I believe the Falcon doesn't allow for left hand drive ( would happily be corrected though) and my understanding is that a RHD car is only allowed for 12 months in the US.

Must be an age thing involved, because plenty of unconverted hard tops and other falcons have crossed the big ditch.

Not really what I meant, more referring to use of components that had already had the cash spent on the development and therefore saving money on development of the entire car. They could still make most of those parts in Australia.

Alan Mulally did say "I want one" when he tested a G6E Turbo when visiting Australia back in '08.

The only FG Falcons sent to America were test mules. There were a number of them sent over there and at least one ute. They would all have been destroyed, as Barraxr8 said.
