I don't get the interior bashing for the FG.
The VE had a rubbish interior for sure so the VF is an improvement there that was much needed. But the FG has a usable and clean interior that I still think is superior to the VF. At most it would only need a few tweaks here or there to address any major complaints.

I actually think both look good in their own way, dont think the VF is bad as such its just a different theme.
Put it this way they are not the worst of the breed to be going out on.

When you compare them like that, the Falcon look’s more classy and stylish in every aspect.

Both have their own individual style and I would hope so too, I'd hate for them to look alike. In wagon format the Calais is a tasty proposition.

Great photoshops guys! Ford would have saved a heap of cash if they just got the design hues from this forum!! And made a much nicer final send-off!

Between $50,000 to $60,000, but he had no idea the final figure, still waiting for more info from Ford. Price marked TBA.
I think people are kidding themselves if they think it will be any dollar under 50K, let alone SS pricing. Even the single XR8 pic released on Friday shows that it will be a high spec car so it will be priced as such.

I think the XR8 will be an interesting price to watch. Who knows how Ford have crunched the numbers / estimations of sales.
Since the discontinue of the XR8 back in 2008 people might be pining for another V8 XR. Where as the lion army haven't been restricted by choice all this time, so are feeling a bit "meh" by the final Holden V8. Maybe Ford can safely put a premium price on it, if they're sure it will still sell. Basically, are they going to price to sell out, or price to squeeze more dollars from die hard Ford fans? |

Wont compete, they cant build enough. Its a HSV base product. XR8 will be a direct competitor against SSV Redline, which it will be priced accordingly and which will probably have a HSV motor by the end of the year.

But dealers will price gouge customers due to short supply.

yeah it'll be the competitor with the SS, SSV, Redline, R8, Maloo, GTS, and probably beat most of them. Unless a magazine reviews it of course, then it will be given second place due to the high seating position and outdated interior.

Well, i think the xr6 turbo is currently the direct competitor to the ss...the xr8 will probably be closer to the ss-v (whatever its called) or higher...as i think the new xr8 will be between a current GS and GT as a whole package.

To me the XR8 should be the working mans V8 in the same way the SS is in the Commodore.
For the bells and whistles you pay a premium and buy a GT.

So what should the price gap be between a XR6T and XR8 if both have brembo's. I was thinking $5k (leaving the emotion of a V8 out of it for now).

Ford already has a "working mans V8" ...... Its called the XR6Turbo. Trumps the SS on everying and it fills the performance sedan at a bargain price segment well! The XR8 will be a premium price because it will be a premium product.

I couldnt care less if someone can option up a XR8 to GT money, just dont price the base model to high and the premise its the only V8 therefore "we can do what we like".

yes i fail to see how an XR8 with the Miami is that much more premium than an XR6T. Two more cylinders makes it premium?

Each model series is different from the previous...XR-T differed from the XK-P, XA-C differed from the XR-T, etc etc...yet we still relish them as being true Falcons. If the Falcon was to continue past 2016, it was always going to replicate and be part of the 'One Ford' design phase and this model is just that. To me it was expected to carry a similar design to the Fusion/Mustang/Taurus grills, just as the Ecosport, Fiesta, Focus and Everest do. I think in time we will look back on this FH and go 'yeah its a Falcon'.

XR8 will get brembos, XR6 T wont.
XR8 will get 19's standard, XR6 T wont. There will be reasoning behind the price difference. XR6 T will probably be $46 k plus on roads. XR8 probably $54 k plus on roads. Thats if history is anything to go by.
