Cheaper than Sydney BUT agree, unless ones looking for a sea change who I'd doubt would pick Adelaide but some would.
Main thing would be for tourism - whilst palace chook keeps the border closed Barossa etc great alternatives.

Well I just saw that supposedly the first origin game will be played in SA in November. So you would think they would be keen for people to come over for that

I have 1 in year 10. He is going ok, not as productive as when he is physically at school but I am happy with how he is still applying himself. He is in the "lad" group though, and I asked him how his mates are going, he said half of them are doing absolutely nothing at all, the other half are similar to him.

True, but discussion should be done without being rude, condescending or sarcastic.

41 new cases for Australia and 6 deaths sees the CMR rise to 3.057% and active cases drop to 2,298. NSW recorded 4 cases with the balance in Victoria. The Victorian State 14 day moving average is now 62.29 with metro at 52.9 (82 unknown) and regional at 3.6 with only 1 unknown.
1 new cases and zero deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.335% and active cases fall to 96. The UK had 2,631 new cases yesterday. We know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines so we are going to ignore those figures. Just over 34k new cases in the USA yesterday and 392 deaths sees CMR fall to 2.958% and active cases drop to 37.8% with the raw numbers rising again. At least this last week has shown some improvement so there might be some light at the end of that tunnel. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences. Other notable points: The USA completes 93M, India 57M and Spain 10M tests; North America passes 8M cases; North America joins South America with >50 deaths per 100k population; Tunisia (378), Palestine (788) and Israel (4,764) all recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

Great news for regional vic:
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that from 11:59pm tomorrow (16th Sep), regional Victoria will take the third step out of restrictions. More detail on Third Step restrictions https://www.vic.gov.au/third-step-co...ad-to-recovery

In short (and this is for Regional Vic only at this stage) this step means:
No restrictions on the reasons for leaving home or distances travelled, although you won’t be able to travel into areas with higher restrictions. Gatherings of up to 10 persons outdoors. The household bubble applies. It enables up to 5 visitors from a nominated household to visit a home. Children under 12 months are not included in the cap but you can only have that bubble with one other household for the duration of this stage. Children will return to school on a staggered basis. Cafes and restaurants will be able to serve groups of up to 10 people but how many of those groups is determined by density limits. Retail is allowed to be open with no person limits. Hairdressing / beauty services where a face covering can be worn for the duration of service are allowed to open. Outdoor contact and non-contact sport for people aged 18 and younger, outdoor non-contact sport only for adults, with gathering and density limits, outdoor skateparks open, outdoor fitness for groups of 10 people. Weddings are allowed to have 10 people in total (including participants). Funerals can have 20 attendees excluding the staff. Religious services outdoor for up to 10 people or indoor for a 'household' bubble. Travel within Vic is allowed except for Metro or anywhere else with higher restriction levels.

I’m pleased this has been enacted. It will be great for peoples’ mental health in these areas.

I just hope that people keep the good practices they've started during the restrictions, ie spending more time with family and getting out and about for bike rides, walks etc. A saying I saw the other day is totally applicable in this case: Motivation gets you started, habit keeps you going.

Good news for the regions.
Also SA will open to ACT from midnight but not NSW. Not sure if they can stop being coming in from NSW and then hopping on a flight. |

Probably need some sort of proof that you actually live in the ACT.

Just saw on the news that you have to make a declaration when requesting to travel to SA that you're not been outside the “safe community transmission zone” for 14-days prior to travelling into SA.
If they catch people from NSW doing that, there will be fines and possible prosecution. Last edited by MITCHAY; 15-09-2020 at 04:15 PM. |

Dan's made it clear, if you're from Metro Melbourne and caught in country Victoria, there will be big fines.
I reckon they will be rolling out the number plate recognition cars everywhere tomorrow.

Reginal Victoria, get ready for in influx of people with a distinctive accent heading your way next week.
Apparently a lot of the people who were responsible for the anti-lockdown protests, are very keen to leave the "jail" that is Metropolitan Melbourne, and are planning to head your way. Good luck to you if they make it through the checkpoints. |

Really good news for the regions going to next step opening back up. No cases for a number of days, 14 day moving average under 5 cases.
What've I missed from AFF in the last little while? Peeps got banned I guess. This I've seen on other forums too. And hang in there Melbourne people who aren't idiots and are doing the right thing, your numbers are falling, and there is a way out. They will watch to see how we go, and then probably a similar path for you.

Haha, yes, I tangled the words there. Might just leave that as is.
They say the Roman Empire got dumber as of the lead they used in their piping for drinking water.
