As for the pic, it is a poorly taken phone pic, i'd rather wait and see a proper pic. Though in saying that, whoever put that G6E badge on needs to be fired. Looks like it was done after end of month drinks.

Very euro. Now with some 275's on the back and a boot spoiler it will look hawt. And a nicer colour...

Not the best photo to be making a judgment call on...sorta like seeing a blurry photo of Rihanna in a cow onesie and saying her butt isn't nice...

My tip...Ford will release official pics of the rear in the coming days. Forget about that photo, the rear looks awesome...just wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised if that photo is a fake.

The first Falcon rear end that didn't look like a Falcon!
I'm sure it will grow on some, but unsure if like.

What does that comment mean?
What does a Falcon rear end look like? XK? XA? XW? XD? EA? AU? FG? There is no Falcon style. It has constantly changed over the decades.

Calm heads will prevail. I am waiting until I can see one at a dealership before commenting further. Until we all can see one in the flesh, we are all talking through our ar.e.

In modern years they have tried to carry through a family resemblance in terms of design. This new rear end does that but evolves it and picks up design cues from desirable euro cars which they have done before.

It's the hatch-looking boot, indent and badge positioning that don't work for me. But I reckon the XR will look tough.

Thank you. That's the point I was trying to get across, albeit I failed.

let me guess, those of you who like the FG better, own one? If anything, the FG is very AU like in the rear. This rear end is very euro and sleek. I like!!!

and just like them I disagree, there is NO discernible Falcon style. You want a particular car style then look at the 911, that has it's own style. Recognizable by anyone in any model. Falcon like Commodore, is just a large car that has changed over time.

What's that got to do with anything? I've been waiting to snap up an FZ xr8 since it was announced. The fact I own an fg is irrelevant.

Rubbish, is it less falcon because of lights in the boot? Certainly not the first falcon to do this...EB/DF/DL/BA all had lights in the boot...

It has a lot to do with it for many. This is a much more refined rear end to the FG. Much more. I think those that own an FG are just used to it. This is the first real photo. Give it a day or 2. I have always thought the rear lights of the FG were its weakest points.

Granada/XD falcon...
Has the XD got a "falcon rear"? Any less of a falcon because it shared global styling traits?

Almost like there is some trim missing on the rear shot and the badge position looks off.
