One of my more rubbish days in the last few years today, but Povo Ute kept on chooglin. Through hail and torrential rain, it saw me through. For that alone, I’m grateful.

Was the hail any good? As in worthy of causing damage. I only saw a shift in temperature and rain. So long as the povo ute runs good enough and has rego, the they them should be fine.

Didn’t get much bigger than corn kernels for me, around Rookwood, South Strathfield and towards Chullora. Rain was deep on the Hume around Chester Hill.

Nothing wrong with a good sense of humour.
I've got a mate who thinks he is heaps good at procrastinating. He is, but im the king of procrastination. Anyhows, for the past 3 weeks his excuse is 'cant find the time'. So what thats all about is he has a screw in his rear right tyre. I find no issue lending my battery tyre pump for 2 minutes twice a week. Todays bet was guess the preassure price is right rules, so closest without going over. Tyre plate says 32 psi. He said 14. I said 16. I won. It was at 17.5. Bumped it back up to 32, standard issue "I'll get it fixed tomorrow". I'll ask again on friday. |

I'm can't hack people who procrastinate. Had a mate who drove a very tired VP commie. His serpentine belt was rooted, a bit like the car itself really... it was cracked like I've never seen a belt cracked. It was just dying to be changed, for years. So on a recent visit, he was over mine playing the Pinnie (Leathal Weapon 3) and while he was trying to beat my high score, I slipped out and popped on a new one, well, new from the wreckers new... Just didn't want the phone call.. "Mate, any chance you could give us a tow".. Now I sleep well LOL... Took like 15 minutes to fit, and $18 from you steal it (U Pull IT).. he mentioned it to me the other day.. weeks after I changed it and said "Mate, she had an easy couple more years left in it" LOL Great guy, love him to bits, but just can't handle procrastinators when it comes to vehicle reliability. Cheers, One Man

I finally finished repairing a door that I pulled off my Corty over 12 months ago. Illnesses and injuries got in the way but it's done and looks pretty good. Now I've just got to get it back on the car...

A couple of things really made MY day (yesterday). The post images server was down for uploads... so couldn't post this as I wanted it to appear yesterday..
Anyway, I absolutely smashed Wednesday, started at 6.30am instead of 7am. Finished 8 jobs by 11:55am ( a whole days work ), got to take it easy for another 4 hours.. next... I have been chasing some un ob tain ee um TRD Aurion factory centre caps for my car. Considering there was only 573 of these cars made, and the original caps were cracking when new, they are like rocking horse poo to obtain in decent nick. I managed to score a full set of factory mags (4), 2 with near new tyres, 2 with 85% tread (235/35/19 ZR rated) and these: for $600 gorillas delivered to my door in person!!! Now that made my day! Next up was this little chap: While I was talking to the guy who dropped the wheels off, little mate walked around the letter box to say Hi. Win!! Will take pics of the wheels when I get 20 seconds to myself... Hope you guys also had a win.. Cheers, One Man

Wow, another killer day.
first up was this: the next... was a couple of cars you don't see any more (posted pics in the other thread.. https://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11486830 next up was a Nana in a Camry with her dolly.. Glad I'm not hiding my own Easter eggs just yet.. poor thing. Next up: I'm not going to work Monday or Tuesday next week. YAH! I'm furthering my career options... Training. Will be nice to sit in a classroom again and learn stuff. And lastly: got home and fitted some new LED bulbs to the map lights, boot light and front and rear door courtesy lights on my "Camry Taxi", as I like to call it... when taking the **** out of it. (My TRD Aurion). Wow, I can now see in the boot properly at night. TICK. A single map light is brighter than the main interior light. TICK. I didn't realise that the interior light is a festoon type jobbie, and the rest are all T10 wedges.. ah well a work in progress. Cheers, One Man

My employer runs a rewards and recognition program where points are allocated to an individual when someone recognises good work they have carried out. Those points can then be used to purchase a wide range of goods as a reward.
I've banked my points from the last couple of years and have just ordered myself a weber baby q barbecue. This will be great as I haven't used my 4 burner bbq since I moved it in to the new place. It's just too big and too much hassle to get out and use when I'm cooking just for me. The weber should be a much better size and I'm expecting to use it far more frequently. I've gone with the natural gas model as my alffesco area has a natural gas outlet. So no need for lpg bottles either.

I hadn't seen the wheels or tyres in person. Just saw a single photo from above showing one of the mint centre caps that I wanted, and took a punt. Big punt that paid off in a BIG way. Gunna sell (advertise) the wheels and tyres for a grand. If someone beats me down to $800, cool. I don't have many skills in life, but turning $50 into $500 is one of them. That's why I just HAD to post it in this thread. Kicked a major goal there. Cheers, One Man

…Watching a Tesla try to chop everyone via the left lane, from the lights without realising until a bit late they were barrelling towards a mobile speed camera. Driver conduct observed thereafter was more circumspect.
Also put in some time helping a fellow who’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, get his HQ project going again after an extractor install. It was just basic mechanicking, but seemed to tick some boxes in terms of mateship and tinkering. I made a short video of him blipping the pedal with open headers, to share with his mates. It wasn’t a job I’d really planned for the day but seemed the right thing to do. |

My power unit on the tilt garage door started slowly dying. Had to open/close it using numerous button presses with staggered movements. Finally died.
Unable to lock the door and with power unit dead door opened from outside very easily. Have tools and crap in there but most importantly my Cervelo. A new unit was $1,000 incl gst plus labour. Great... :( Did a bit of internet research and ended up pulling out the PCB and dismantling into 2 cards, and located a capacitor that was bulging. Got a new capacitor with same voltage but higher UF and recapped the board with new capacitor using a solder. All up 3 hours work and research including travelling to Jaycar. Now door works great. Actually works better than it ever has. Total cost in parts - $1.65 incl gst What did we do before the internet? Oh, now I remember- we paid.

Had a similar experience.
My CCTV stopped recording 2 weeks ago, new unit $400. Opened up the unit, there's just a toshiba 1 tetrabite hard drive in there. 4 screws and 2 plugs to remove. Got a new one off ebay for $68 with 12 month warranty from a computer shop. Happy days.

Hard to know where to start to be honest..
The previous post prolly helped kick the day off... Metallica announces their world tour to OZ. Tick... Applied for a job driving a Vac truck 2 days ago and got a call from them at 11am Thursday (today). They want me to start asap, even before meeting them face to face.. Gift of the gabb huh... It pays 4 kahoonas an hour more... doing less physical work... with a newer truck... AND, I have to spend one Saturday away, fully paid.. Accommodation, meals drinks etc. Not to mention the overtime. Hell yeah! Tick. Had to have a medical - Driver fitness exam - passed that. Tick. (interesting to note that my blood pressure was 109 / 65, beats me how, as driving 10 hours a day in the roadworks capital of Oz isn't doing it any favours...) Got my results back from the training I did on Monday / Tuesday this week. Crushed that... Tick. I'm gunna run out of room if I keep talking.. Hope you guys also managed to Tick some boxes.. Cheers, One Man.

Two Cricket Test Matches finished Today.
Pakistan defeated England being an Aussie it is always good to see the old enemy lose. The biggest result is New Zealand defeating India in India in the Second Test and winning the series. This is the First Time New Zealand has won a Test Series in India and it ha s been 10 years since India lost a Test series in India. |

One of the “dead wood” jobs at work is all but done, passed the shakedown with a few fasteners to re-tension and it’s out to earn money after four months sitting. Several more to go but I’m hopeful of continued progress.
