Hi there,

Long time Ford owner - 1974 MK3 Cortina 2000E, 2dr MK1 Escort, XD, XE & XF utes (wish I still had them all) and thankfully don't still have the '87 Sierra wagon or Laser sedan. Recently retired my workhorse 4x4 Courier XLT 2.5 TD. Currently in my Ford stable have only two AUIII XR6's - one slightly broken, hence why I'm here.
Oh, and I'm in NZ - but don't hold that against me
Happy to be here and looking forward to some good discussions.

Cheers,
Leigh

My name is Trenton and I live in Wollongong NSW Australia.

I have just bought a 2000 Model Ford Cougar with the factory upgrade of EiBach FTR.

It was sitting in a guy's garage for the past 11 years and he decided on selling it without having it fixed, so it does not run.

I will have many questions, but for now, Just Hi to all.

Hi all, Ashley here, have a tricky problem that hopefully someone has come across before. When I'm driving, at some point my Speedo , tacho, gear indicator on digital screen under speedo and a/c fan will drop out. Sometimes I can hit a bump and all comes back on, sometimes it stays off. If I turn car off and gear selection is not visible, it won't start. Sometimes I can slam the door or bonnet and it all comes back. Any ideas?

Walk nine times clockwise around the car at midnight on a full moon, drop a clove of garlic into your coolant reservoir and replace the lid. Drive until the car is at full temperature and see if the problem remains.

More seriously, what model of Ford?

Hi all,

First car many moons ago was a 1983 Ford Laser Ghia 5spd manual in white. Multiple cars (& bikes) of many different makes over the years including - Nissan, MG (B's), Subaru, Saab, Toyota, Renault, Mazda, BMW, Kawasaki, Triumph...

Now I'm back with the Blue Oval - picked up a blue AUii XR8 220kw manual the other day. Looking forward to getting to know her and picking the knowledge of the Ford brains trust on here.

Cheers,

Hi All, New member here,

Ive had Effies for years as personal work trucks,

I still have two, 1977, F100 and a 1977, F350, Both now unregistered as I have retired,

They both weighed 4.3 Ton, Mobile welder and gasses and all my work tools, Hence the F350 to be legal Finally, Both Duel fuel, 351 Clevo with four on the floor, Short wheel base,

I also drive a Jeep 2011 Patriot, Freedom Pack, for sale, I dont need two cars,

But my daily driver is a 2001 Toyota Camry, V6,

I also have a 1989 Foretravel, 36 Foot RV, ORED, with a V8 Turbo Cat motor and 4 speed Allison, Auto,With lockers in all gears,
I imported it from the USA, For my Retirement back when I was working,

I also have a wrecked 82 Ford LTD, I bought it for the 351 clevo M motor in it for my F350, It was also on gas,

The Windsor V8 in my Effie was dead, So it was a simple swap,

The only reason I still have it, Is I wanted the diff in it for a spare in case my F100 diff blew up,

My friend was taking parts off it to restore his 1991 Ford Panel van,

He suggested to me that this LTD was a Special and only 40 were made of this particular Model, ?????????

I find this hard to believe as Car Special or Limited Editions were usually made in 200 lots,
But really I dont have a clue on it, Other than my Effies, I know nothing about Fords,

As I drove from Brand new, A 1976 253 V8 HJ Holden Monaro with four on the floor for over 30 years and 750,000 Kays on the clock,
It died from body cancer and a dead Gearbox,

I was using the Monaro to tow all my gear and AS400 mobile welder on a Tandem Trailer,

It was snapping the wheel nuts off the rear wheels on my Monaro, So I needed to upgrade to some thing better any way,

It died on Friday, I was driving my new second hand 77 F100 on Sunday, and have been driving Effies ever since,

I love my Effies, They are a true work horse,

Does any one know if this is true or not,

As I really dont want to crush a car that might be a special or limited edition,

Thanks, Brian,
PS, I ride a Honda Blackbird, 1100XX, Im Old, Not Slow,

Live in Melbourne.

Hi Everyone, my user name is Hewie, (god of the ocean and the weather), not that I'm a god, just a very ordinary bloke! The principle reason I have joined this forum is to hopefully get some sage advice from you experienced and knowledgeable ford owners

I have had a few Falcons over the years and 7 months ago I purchased a 2016 Ford Everest with the 3.2 litre diesel engine. This vehicle has done 116,000 klms. About two months ago I noticed that at very low revs, such as taking off at the lights or slowing down for an intersection, the engine runs very rough and feels as though its starving for fuel as I accelerate. This problem is intermittent, but its rather stressful when I'm in stop start heavy traffic. The vehicle cruises at highway speeds with no problem.

I recently had it checked out at the local Ford specialist. He ran it through the diagnostic scanner which was all good, (apart form a couple of glow plugs were down). I had the fuel and air filter replaced as a precaution.

Unfortunately, the problem still exists. Has anybody out there had a similar experience and if so, what was the issue and how was it remedied?

I'd really appreciate any advice/suggestions any forum members may have. Thanks for reading ad I look forward to any suggestions that you may have. Cheers.

Hello All

I have a 2011 FG Limited Edition XR6 Manual - Metallic Grey - Full Leather Interior with Decals.
Wondering if anyone can help me find how many of this model were produced. I know manual XR6 are rare but how many Limited Edition XR6 Manual came off the line in 2011?
P.S. If anyone's interested in buying this car I'll consider reasonable offers. All in original condition and has 5 of its original alloys along with a 4-wheel set of Work rims. Has done 156xxx kms.

Cheers!

Hey guys,

Hope all is well! I have just joined this group as I am planning to buy a Mustang.

I am tossing up between Mustang California Special Fastback or Vert in Cyber Orange, depending upon availability. I always wanted to buy a vert. Would be a good to go with Ver to stick with Fastback?

The other option is standard GT.

Also, what's the best price considering current situation. Appreciate your suggestions

Thanks in advance.

HI GUYS,
WHY OH WHY, I LOVED MY OLD XB WITH THE 6. abused it and it kept going. This modern stuff! Rant over. happily the advice from the forum has helped me do gearbox oil and diesel filter. Primed it a few times turned key fired up then died, the magic words didnt help. Primed again lying on the ground tank whirring. Still nothing popped the hp line fuel. Took it all to bits and you know those pathetic fiddly electrical clips, well it wasnt seated right as after the vibration it cut out. Should the cock head namely me take all the blame?????!!!!
