Just scarred a crank nose while removing the old oil seal. Going to likely be Tuesday before I can get a sleeve to suit. What a way to wrap up the week!

I basically “pecked” a little divot in it with the tip of a 3/32” bit that skipped while prepping to pull the old seal with a self-tapping screw and pliers. There’s not really enough space to dress a repair adequately, the seal is only about 4-5mm across on the radius. Should have used a sharp punch to set the drilling hole more accurately; “Haste makes waste”.

No, a non-Ford. Plenty of meat to get a Barra front seal out.

Figured I'd ask.... What kinda miserable creation has the front crank seal running on the crankshaft and not the balancer?

Tentatively calling it fixed, the idiot tax ran me $60 - thirty eight my sleeve and twenty two for a StarTrack bag.
Had to remove the flange FIRST, dress a lead-in bevel to the keep side with a jeweller’s file then press the sleeve on using my cambelt sprocket and a bolt/washer. Too much stress for something that barely showed oil dampness to begin with. ![]() |

Cooking dinner tonight, nothing flash, just mashed potatoes, peas & a marinated steak, and GEEZ, I really HATE how whoever the genius was that seems to design potato mashers seems to think they need to add either a hanging loop or a nice trendy point to the end of the handle..... right where you'd put the palm of your hand when trying to impart some weight on the bloody thing!

Sounds like there’s a product missing from the marketplace. Potato masher head on SDS+ shank.

Aramex... easily the worst freight/courier mob in the country.
How do your dropkick last mile drivers miss a building that takes up an entire block and is labelled with lettering the size of Victoria's debt on every side (including the location for ALL DELIVERIES!!!!)... not once, twice but a dozen times. And that's when the package got to the big smoke (that was a saga in its own right, seven weeks from Sydney with no updates of any sort). |

[Quote/] When I was 15 or so, coming back home from Water World in Logan, was sitting in the back seat absolutely furious because someone had stolen my pride and joy - Supergoose BMX that I had works for a LONG time to get it tricked up etc.. So to ad insult to injury, I noticed a slight annoyance in my left upper thigh, about 2 inches below the bag.. so not thinking twice gave it a scratch and it went away.. then about 20.34 seconds later... the MOST intense pain I had ever felt. Yes I verbally yelped... I lifted up the waist band of my shorts to find an angry bull ant that had tee minus point zero zero zero 1 seconds to live. I still remember what the bite site looked like (for an hour + afterwards).. It looked like a volcano. About 5 cm across and 5mm high. Man that hurt so much.. I feel your pain man...

We still don't have the delivery. No Aramex phone number gets you anywhere, their online chat thing is useless. I've asked the sender to file an insurance claim and re-send with another carrier.

pfft dont need an SDS shank, need one for an IR air hammer... theres a convenient air line fitting right ourside my kitchen window too, so it wouldnt be an issue to put a T piece in and extend it through the wall!

Aramex chat finished (no resolution), the bot then asked for feedback.
On a scale from 0 to 10 (0 being no chance to 10 being certain), how likely are you to recommend Aramex to family and friends? I selected 0, with the "how can we improve" suggestion: "dissolve the company and go out of business" |

I ended up going to the depot, immediately found the bloody box in their QUARANTINE cage looking like the US had suspected it of possibly being worth drilling for oil, and whaddya know, the "white powder" was drinking chocolate from a burst container, and had gotten through every item in the box....

On one occasion, I had an order with Detailing Shed being sent via Amarex. Detailing Shed are in Sydney, I'm in Central Victoria. For some reason, the package went to the Bendigo depot. Someone apparently determined the package was hazardous goods and then refused to send it any further. We are talking about a car wash soap that technically has a warning on the bottle about POTENTIAL hazard. The ONLY way to determine if the items were "hazardous" would be to open the package and read the back of the label, no labels are placed on the box. In the end, Detailing Shed had to pay another courier to go and pick up the highly dangerous car soap from Amarex and deliver it to me. My other option was to drive the 3-hour round trip to get it myself, but I paid for delivery to my door, and I didn't have time to go and do someone else's job. When the package was delivered, it had clearly been opened. After further discussion with Detailing Shed, they found out the Bendigo Amarex depot were known for opening packages, picking and choosing what they wanted, sending out an "undeliverable" notice then going on eBay and selling the goods.

Aramex is the old Fastway couriers rebranded, nothing has changed, its still the same crap service wrapped up in an nice new name change.
Its 3 weeks quicker to buy from another country than to use Aramex to deliver in the same state. |

Feel free to come to my Aus Post depot unannounced at any time and try to catch one of my staff mistreating the freight. We're open continuously from 9:00pm Sunday to 7:00pm Friday, so you've got plenty of time to waste because you won't have success.

My childcare centre ordered some play equipment/resources from Amazon au on Friday lunchtime. Old mate in his rented Iload van was banging on the door that Sunday while I was cleaning to deliver 13 cartons.
