As one tends to do when searching utterly diverse subjects on YouTube, I ran across this - a brief but informative doco on the death of actress Jayne Mansfield:
https://youtu.be/jNCi41jNyfg It occurs to me that if that accident had occurred today - airbags and crumple zones be damned - that the death toll might have been higher, and there'd have been a lot less car left over. What I'm getting at is that on the positive side of things, that Buick's construction may well have been why the children in the back seat survived.
