Wonder if the dramas they had with the BF V8's and their alternators had anything to do with it.

On the Ford Aus website there's a pic of a headlight and top of grille of 2014 Falcon- to me looks like from the Mondeo/Fusion, plenty of pics on Ford US site.

Unless Ford are differentiating the variants of the falcon range.
But even then, the design philosophy doesn't resemble anything else in the global ford range.

The only thing i can think of with rings in the grill and an oval badge is Hyundai or something from chery motors

I think you might be right, certainly looks like a Proton badge. It could be they are testing it here at one of the testing facilities, and I know Ford "subcontracts" its proving ground sometimes for other makes.

The only one I can find there isn't the 201X it is the new Fusion (if it is the one on the grey/silver car). The internal shape is all wrong (see my avatar)

No, The FG XR8 (& 6T) failed the HWP Brake Tests - with its std penny pinching puny brakes, which is why Ford finally relented and added Brembos (F & R) to secure HWP sales. By that time it was too late for the XR8, which was sadly discontinued. It is also the sole reason why I did NOT buy an FG XR8.

I hope the new XR8 gets AT LEAST 330-350mm F & the Territory 328mm Rears - with larger PBR Performance alloy callipers (similar to the BA XR8 Premiums). This would be a cost-effective solution.

With roughly 10 months to go before going on sale you would hope a bit more information might have leaked out. Considering the circumstances I would've thought ford would be doing a bit more to build some anticipation for what is the last of the breed

It would appear that this isn't a Ford at all - the front end styling doesn't match the Trapezoidal-grille theme that Ford employs.

The more I look at it, the more I think it's a Chinese-market vehicle.

Yes there would be but its not as if they need to do it in disguised sheetmetal. From the outside, it would be an FG just with some Lane departure leds on the mirrors, LA DIDA.

I'm getting to the point where I couldn't care less, anymore. Manufacturer 'DNA', global design cues, call it what you will. Nothing will escape the fact that all the manufacturers are making their cars all look the same. Manufacturers used to have bread and butter, then some jam on the side to keep things interesting. Now, all we have are varying degrees of said bread, with butter.

Look at Audi! What's the difference between a base A4, and an S8 these days? The price. Cars are so generic and boring now! (Performance versions excepted, but even they hardly stand out anymore!)

Which brings me to Ford - Fusion, Edge, Mondeo etc. seriously, who gives a rat's **** anymore!!!

Speculation by Drivel. Nothing more nothing less.
Fusion, not Falcon. BIG difference, especially with the glimpses we've seen of the Audi style DRLs on the Falcon.

We have only seen the XR version...so far...I wound say the pic below (from twitter) is the base model falcon...Fusion doesn't have DRL's, and the detail on the light is different.

I'm thinking perhaps something from Geely, or tata...or a update on the Proton Preve...

Apparently there might not be an XT model for this one. It's rumored the XR6 is gonna be the base model for the Falcon, but is not confirmed. Yet.

The car in camo appears to me as the production version of the Emgrand KC concept - a Geely sub-brand:

Fusion is the the new Mondeo. Its has already been confirmed that Australia is getting the new Mondeo in 2014. Mondeo is not the new Falcon, therefore the Fusion can not be the new Falcon.

From what we have seen so far they may share some very similar design features, such as upper and lower new Ford "family" grille shape etc.

I am holding back on modifying the my FG because I know I wont be able to resign trading it for the final Falcon

OK but if I hadn't found the pic on the Ford Aus website, I would have thought oh internet speculation, but they put it there ,do they want to jerk us around? oh that's what they do to us anyway with warranty, just see some of the recent threads...

Well Geely owns Volvo Cars, so I think they're a bit different to your run of the mill Great Wall parts bin ripoff specials.
