Ford released CGI of the front and people go crook saying we want real photos not CGI's. So Ford take off some camouflage and allow pics to be taken and we are still not happy. Now we want all the cars revealed. We are still min 4 months away from sale date. We might not agree with the way they are going about it but we should be happy that we are getting something. In times gone by we would be drooling over an artist impression from a car mag till the car went on sale.

I hope the good people of FoA don't get on this thread and take some of the stuff being said on here, to heart ! They have obviously worked really hard, with (no doubt) a really tight budget to make what basically amounts to a facelift, look so different to the outgoing FG... which gives the last Falcon it's own "personality" and leaves us with IMO a nice, clean, modern design to remember the Falcon by !
It could so easily just have been something like the BA - BF upgrade which was basically a front bumper (with hardly any difference) and tail lights (which only a train-spotter can pick)... but no... they've given the Falcon a whole "new look"... with clever reworking of the rear bumper up to the slimmer tail lights that sit in (what looks to be) the same rear fenders, a reworked bootlid... new front bumper, grills, lights & bonnet... and an extra hole punched in the existing front fender (could be wrong.. just how it looks from the pics) It's fairly obvious there is still a lot of passion left inside FoA for Falcon... and the team should be made to feel proud off their efforts (especially with what comparatively little resources they've had.) Not saying you have to like the new styling... but we should at least be applauding them for a blo ody good effort !!! Personally... I reckon it looks really great... and I'd like to say to all those who worked on "Our" last Falcon... Well done Guys... Thankyou ! D

Money talks, bs walks. I'm a potential buyer and I'm not sold on it. Be interesting to know the ratio of those saying how awesome it is who are actually seriously considering buying as opposed to those who only buy second hand and might just love Falcon, but not buy it new, yet saying it's totally awesome.

I hope the moderators don't delete the negative comments about new Falcon... So those members they eat their own words when they buy the snub nosed XR8 street fighter and then talk about how awesome the car looks.

Why does it matter?
Could look at the ratio of buyers, second hand buyers, and those who like but won't buy. Doesn't mean that opinions are any more important for one group to another.

I'm with you Professor Farnsworth.
Not impressed at all, really disappointed because I was going to buy an xr8 on launch and keep it long term as it will be a piece of Australian motoring history. But, I just can't get over the rear end. Sorry to harp on about it but, Crikey! |

The opinions are fine, I'm saying the bottom line is the ratio of people who like it AND who are prepared to put the cash down.

The front was decent but I'm not digging the rear. Am I the only one that wishes they skipped the new Falcon and just release the Mustang already?

Are the rear quarters the same or not? Still can't get an accurate comparison.
The front guards, however, look the same.

I'm in the ratio group of people who like it AND would be prepared to put the cash down if said cash was that disposable and readily available

I can't believe some are saying they won't go near one, or that's it they're not interested, yada yada yada... based on base model photo's from phone cameras. Lets get real here, subjective opinion on looks is what we are arguing about on the BASE model....has any Falcon looked so good in base model spec as what we are seeing here for the last Falcon...ever...
When I saw my first BA in the garage within the Ford plant I didn't fall in love instantly, I actually thought the c-pillar to boot looked odd possibly in trying to fit AU doors to the new roof and boot...but it grew on me, when I saw my first FG I ordered one the next week...point is I saw them in the flesh first....wish I was a pie maker, I will make a killing selling humble pie in a few months time,,lol.... |

Yep fair enough. I like what I see at the moment. Obviously we haven't seen the rear end of the XR's. I also think it's going to look better in the flesh. So plan is to do that and see what they loo in red and Smoke. If a deal can be done then a new XR8 will be heading to my driveway next April.

Yeh once we can go and see one in the flesh I'm sure a few will change their view but we can only base our opinions so far on what we've seen

Nice Shape, Nice design and will look good on the road with the right gear to set it off.
Good base to start with. Its a yes from me. Wants: Phone Charger relocated so cable doesn't run around my gear stick Drink Holder relocated - My can gets in the way with Stick Shift Drink Holder for thinner can for my Red Bull so it doesn't spill around corners or under harsh acceleration. Thicken up the plastic on the side of my swish leather racing seats so it feels like they are solid and quality build. Centre Console & Silver Highlights that doesn't scratch easily And my favourite dream requirement: Optional Dealer Track Pack - Roll Cage, Fire Extinguisher, Racing Seats, Harnesses, and any other offerings which may give some claim to fame like a GT HO in the modern era. Same as Porsche offer. |

If I had the money I would have already put a deposit down on the XR8. Unfortunately I just have to hope that in 2016 I will have the money and Ford are still manufacturing ( I would also prefer an Auto but if there are none left I'm sure the manual wouldn't disappoint)

I'm waiting to see the XR8 in the full reveal, tech/equipment specs, and in the metal.
I'm considering trading in the wife's Focus late 2015/early 2016 on the XR8. This is one facelift where the front and rear seem to gel with the rest of the car.

In my eyes they've fixed he FG's rear end. I've never really taken to it unless it's an FPV, and the front of the FGII was like a slap up job just because they could. The XR's are ok, but the XT and G Series were awful. This new model is Falcon porn, love it from any angle...

If you scroll through the thread it is mentioned many time that there will not be one. Also, while I can't be bothered to find you a link, when ford announced the XR8 they said there would not be a ute
