You sound like you need a Holden ute. That's what people buy when they don't really want a work ute.

When people want a work ute they buy a dual cab 4x4 or some variant of the 4x2 tray utes and they have real engines which don't have spark plugs, not some sedan with the *** missing with 19" wheels.

Fine, but Falcon has always been more of a work ute in comparison to the Commodore.

Of course but I think people have moved on from them as work utes, they all seem to be our equivilent of coupes these days.

Really guys? should we all not stop for a minute and remember this is it. I have loved Fords since I saw a XW GT in a showroom. I have bought over the years at least one of every series. I have cried like a girl when we lost at Bathurst and been in my fair share of fist fights over Fords v Holdens. I don't give a rats bum about minor details on the FG-X I'm buying one because its the last time I will ever see/drive a new Falcon.

I'm 52 so I would expect by the time I go there will be little or no Falcons left on the road and that makes me sad. I will also miss the bloody commodore too. So lets just talk about the car we all love and say thanks for all the Falcons we have driven.

Amen! Holden drivers give me the *****, but they still make a nice car and it's a shame it's going as well. I think Ford have done a great job on this, and we are lucky they've built it, rather than just throw their imported stuff at us. They could have half-baked it and limped across the line, but they've made a real effort with this car. Like it or hate it, it's the last one we will ever get and it's gonna be a corker.

That's fine, more FG X for the rest of us. You never know, you may see it in person and it just clicks. Or you'll hate it and stick with your FG. Probs not much point upgrading if the interior is still similar too.

You mean the photo's at present aren't doing it for you? It's a pre production test vehicle,Cohen haven't done a photo shoot to get these photos, just spur of the moment more than likely from a phone camera, I will make my judgement only once they are released and I can use my own judgement

A bit concerned about what looks to be a massive front overhang on some of those photos. Maybe it's just the angle, but it looks like the FG-X has gone to front wheel drive to me...

People are way too quick to judge these days just off a few pics of mule runabouts with no confirmed specs for a lot of things.
I'm grateful ford followed through with the FGX when they could have quite easily said were done after the FG. The FGX is gonna punch it out with the VF till the end on the street and on the track. FORD vs HOLDEN rivalry is one of if not the biggest rivalry this country has ever had will be a sad day when it doesn't exist anymore. Hopefully it lives on long after production ends.
Surely V8SC's can get many years yet out of the FGX n VF

It goes into production next month, Ford have never waited so close to a launch to reveal a Falcon before. You have it completely wrong.

4 yrs ago the XR50 utes WERE a bit "special".. 2014/15, FG is Dated!
AND I bought my XR50t ute AND the first of the BA Pursuits AND at least a dozen other BRAND NEW Fords/FPVs over the years because I bleed bloody blue!
What I'm saying is Ford are treating their loyal ute buyers with contempt with this latest offering.. Bloody disgrace! (Just sayin!!)

I was scratching my head as well the first time I read someone complaining that the rear of the ute hasn't changed. And it just keeps happening, how stupid can people be?

XA-XB-XC ute/van/wagon rear - no change
XD-XE-XF-XG-XH ute/van/wagon rear - no change
AU-BA-BF ute/van/wagon rear - no change

Now here we are in the dying days of the local industry with ridiculously small sales and development budgets to match, and some of us were expecting a re-design to a 6 year old ute, against all past precedence? Really?

I'm really, trying to like the new one but without the awesome 315, 335 s/c v8 or F6 310 or FG Super Pursuit spec Brembos, this just gives me that 'wanna be performance ute' impression compared to the up-spec Maloo or FPV's! I dont 'need' IRS because I actually enjoy the ride of a live rear axle in my FG XR8 and looking to trade up... was just hoping I could have my cake and eat it too with this release. It looks like up-specking an FG GS ute or trying to stomach an HSV might be my only options.

All the ones complaining about no 310kw, how many of you actually use 310kw on a daily basis...? How will not having 310kw impact on your ownership of the vehicle. Fair enough complain about no V8 ute, but fair dinkum get over the F6 motor...

270kw in my xr6t is more than enough power for everyday driving...but i'm kinda tempted most of the time to give it a squirt here and there, so i'd say i probably use 'upto' about 150-200kw on a daily basis and maybe a couple times or so a month where i use upto the maximum power

If you really want the F6 motor go & by an F6 there out there waiting to be
snapped up, their not making anymore!!! There are way less F6's on the market
than GT's so if you want a rarer car what are you waiting for!
