All international flights will require passengers to have been fully vaccinated (jab #1 and jab #2) to be able to board flight. That will be a given no doubt.

Flights within Australia, will most likely be the same. The matter is currently being discussed apparently.

There's also conversation that some workplaces where employees have to work in close proximity (emergency services for example) will require mandatory vaccination.

if he shut them when the warnings were there in late January we would be a very different country now, no financial ruin, just cruisin' along minding our own business

ScoMo & Co are answerable for this mess, Jacinta Adern was smarter

You can't deny this

If there were lifeguards on duty at Cheviot Beach then the Russians wouldn’t have whisked Bolt away.

National Cabinet to ask ScoMo to ensure that people coming in from OS must have a vaccination certificate before they board planes bound for Australia.

I think they are starting to become too heavily reliant on the vaccination train - it just isn't proven to be successful yet

Simple - come to Australia, you will be quarantined at your cost at a military base for 2 weeks

We housed Bosnian refugees at Puckapuyal a few years ago

I am now sure you cannot be serious.

Both NZ and Australia closed their borders 19/20 of March

I was under the impression that you were the facts guy?

Going by you rationale we should have shut down when SARS hit, but that would have been for nothing. He should have shut down when MERS hit, that would have been for nothing. We shut down at the right time.

NZ does not have an economy to ruin in the first place, they need half their population to come over here to get real jobs for 5 years, then they move back over there set for life.

umm, if we shut down our borders, how did the Melbourne outbreak occur? Wasn't it an overseas traveler that infected a security guard in Melbourne that caused the 2nd wave. If the border was shut, how did this sneaky bugger get in?

Agree somewhat - We have plenty of quarantine bases and defense facilities that could be put to good use.

jeez, this Government has poured heaps of money into quarantine facilities.

What is happening to all those people coming into Darwin? Where are they being housed again? for 2 weeks?

It has me absolutely bewildered why you put a plane load of potentially infected people in the middle of the countries largest cities - it's like WTF?????

And all those SCREAMS of "use the ADF" would be answered if we housed them at Defence Facilities

Data valid as at 23:59 GMT November 24th, 2020.

Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting.

12 new cases for Australia and no deaths so the CMR drops to 3.257%. NSW recorded 6 cases, WA recorded 4 and Queensland / SA 1 case each.

1 new case and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.231% and active cases rise to 53.

The UK had a much lower 11,299 cases yesterday. We know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines so we are going to ignore the CMR but even using their method they recorded 608 deaths.

Just under 175k new cases in the USA yesterday and 988 deaths sees CMR drop to 2.063% and active cases rise to 38.9% with the raw numbers rising and now over 4.9M. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:
Global cases pass 60M with the last 1M in 1 day;
Global deaths set a new daily high of 11,632;
The USA completes 184M, India 133M, Russia 73M and Poland 6M tests.

Algeria (1,133);
Palestine (1,811)
- 17% above the high yesterday;
Malaysia (1,188)
- 16% above the high yesterday
Azerbaijan (3,646) - 13% above the previous high;
Serbia (6,842);
Turkey (7,381); and
Iran (13,721)

... all recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive days.

Well the hotels will be wanting to transition back to paying guests now anyway with the increase in domestic travel.

Actually a certain state premier originally wanted the quarantine facility close to the airport so to not put populated areas at risk. However the health department had already done the deals with the CBD hotels, and given the short time frame which was given to set up, they could not realistically change the decision at that point in time. I won't mention his name, but tullamarine was the area where this chairman wanted the quarantine facilities to be. I believe this info came to light during the inquiry.

Having said that, I don't think location is the only talking point. The virus didn't sneak out on its own. It relied on people. Even if you had the quarantine in a remote location, if the workers are taking it home or sharing it through multiple shifts in different locations, the same thing would have happened.

so they might start saying no to quarantine guests?

Mind you, it hasn't been great publicity for them, having their names splashed all over the media in a negative way

it looks like all of Australia has 12 new cases of covid today , 27,000 total

the state I live in , Massachusetts has about 2500 new cases today , 211,000 so far . Massachusetts is tiny No one seems particularly nervous here , the kids are in school 2 1/2 days ( should be every day) , stores are all open , people wear masks in the stores but I don't see anyone wearing masks outside

You all need to relax open up fully and get on with your lives .

12 cases a day on an entire continent is effectively a hoax , seriously I think my town has 12 new cases a day

Well, there is the bigger picture and it seems to be the lesser of the two evils at the moment.

No strategy is perfect.

Returned Australians.

Scomo and co, blah blah blah, Dan Andrews slurp slurp slurp........
What actually happened.

https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/healt...virus-c-752927

A travel ban will be placed on all non-residents and non-Australian citizens coming to Australia, effective from 9pm on Friday.

In making the announcement on Thursday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison explained the delay was to enable people currently preparing to arrive in Australia to make other arrangements, while not trapping travellers currently mid-flight.

In the video above, March 19 coronavirus update.

“We believe it is essential to take (this) further step,” he said.

“I have been consulting with the New Zealand Prime Minister on (this) ban.”

New Zealand placed the same ban on non-residents entering its country on Thursday.

“These arrangements will enable over the next 24 hours or so for people to make other arrangements, if they were intending to come to Australia,” Morrison said.
