That's done it for me I was thinking with Ford holding off showing interior pics they might have a surprise for us
Cant see myself handing over $50,000 for an XR8 and feel like im still sitting in my XR50th for another 4 years

1. Because no matter what they did, people on Ford sites would still ***** & complain. 2. They are expecting minimal sales, have geared up for minimal sales and with minimal staffing and a scaling down over the next 2 years could not justify the extra expense in a complete change. Not everyone loves the VF. The inside is nice but not in a wow way .... for many. The FG is very good to live with, probably one of their better interiors. Keyless would/should be included but would have been more surprised if it was included this late in the game. The FG and FGX (note they didn't actually call it a different model) is what it is. The last Falcon built with smallish quantities in mind with a smallish budget for a smallish market. Those moving from the B series into an FGX should/will be impressed. Those going from an FG to FGX may not notice it as much. Probably more than a BA to BF11 or EF to EL or XD to XE. That is the way it is. Enjoy it or buy something else. Really in the end, this is it, love it, buy it, don't, move on!

When I first hopped in a VF, I was wowed...I mean it was nice...but its not like the VE was that great, so that's why the VF is such an improvement of sorts...but on the other hand, I felt like I was in a Cruze.
About the only thing I was purely impressed by was the stitched leather upper on the dash.

I dont get the love of the VF interior. The dash is a mishmash of atleast 9 different textures/materials. How exactly is that great design?
It must be great because there is so much going on?

Looks like the new FG X still has the existing hand brake. Drove a VF SV6 company car earlier this year and really enjoyed the push button park break. Not to mention the blind spot mirror indicator, the remote start.. etc
I would of expected all these features to be included. but waiting for the final release details to make up my mind.

Shame Ford, shame. I think we all suspect the interior won’t be an overwhelming change from the old but I’m more than impressed by the driveline packages that will be available, let’s see the Holden Commodores match that. |

Why would you want leather on a surface you're not in contact with...?

well it's not like you sit on a wallet for comfort, or a briefcase. Leather is as much about aesthetics as it is about comfort
i'm not a huge fan of leather dashes but most luxury performance brands have them |

So are we saying it doesn't even have sync now (buttons mute and not voice control)?

Sorry, should have been clearer. What I was getting at is the issue some have with leather seats. Who cares if the seat backs and sides aren't leather, it's not like they're a contact surface anyway, still looks the goods...

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! Last time I did a hand brake start was when I was doing my license test, I just rev her up higher and ride the clutch like a mofo when I'm going to move off lol. |

Ouch, looking at that interior is painful. 2008 Version 3.0. Guess I might just buy the front panels, rear bumper and bootlid from Ford spares and fit them onto the FG and call it an FG-X.

I'm not too keen on the Falcon interiors but my mates XR50T ute is liveable, its not bad by any stretch.
She's getting a bit long in the tooth now but Ford could only work with what they had, we're lucky we even got the FG MKIII, I mean FGX. |

Maybe there wouldn't be as much of a backlash if Ford didn't promote it as the "NEW" Ford and just stuck with an update FGIII
If you say "NEW" that's what the buying public expect

I am doing the same thing with my FG, but only the front end though. The rear of the FGx is absolutely awful. It's going to look great in Ego. |

I'm a little bit suprised by some reactions over the interior tbh, only because spyman & a few others had told us months ago not to expect any significant changes, there was not going to be new tech just minor changes & fabrics, this was always going to be more of an external change than anything else,
Is it enough in this day and age for most buyers? Probably not, would it matter to the die hards who were going to buy one cause they wanted one last new falcon? Probably not, Hopefully I'm wrong but I'll make a prediction, ford may keep building falcons until 2016 but I'd bet the bean counters have already set a "minimum number" which must be built to meet supplier contracts etc and that ford will stretch that number out over the next 2 years or so and will only exceed it if there is strong buyer demand,

The VF dash and gizmos in them look flashy like that to hold the attention of those ADHD whinging types to take their focus off the ancient coal fired drivetrains and the Mazda parts bin special fittings attached to the outside... Seems to work, most of the whingers are on here in full song.
