I started to use (loose) stop losses a way back because i dont like waking up to whatever coin fell 15% overnight just to kickstart my day. I use loose ones because i dont want my stop taken out some nasty wicks... its not good but better sleep. Btcmarkets is unfortunately not suitable for this very basic thing... such a shame so just used btcm to buy in and moved my crypto to more featured exchanges

Did you buy at the peak? Don't worry too much if you're happy to hold onto what you have, at the very least you should be able to break even and get your money back if it continues on to the end of this year, I guess you have to know the right time when to get out.

This could just be a small run and then it goes back to the 40 cent AUD mark again, who knows, its just too volatile the Crypto market, it's why so many advise against investing.

It's pretty amusing though, considering the XR8 next year will be reborn with the same spec engine as the FG GT, could you imagine being a HSV owner forking out all that money on a brand new GTS, then pulling up to the lights next to a FH XR8 and then sitting side by side all the way to 100 and beyond
Even more embarrasing would be the lower spec variants of the VF in HSV's stable getting whopped by a factory XR8.

Don't worry, a lot of people are very angry at Btcmarkets and Coinspot and how they operated.
And Btcmarkets blatantly lied about money transfer times, how many of us could have bought ripple at 20 cents AUD before the end of last years big run...

FOMO is definitely playing a part here. But I think it might be warranted. I’m glad I got back in when I did.

Funnily enough Coinspot must be hungry for market share because they recently lowered their commisions, at least on market orders... i guess the better half of their customers dont know what a market order is and what type if orders are there to start with... so they will still pay those outrageous limit order fees up to 5% an order...

It’s early days. First is to sell enough at $1 to get my money back. Then sit back and just watch.

Well my friend it just hit a dollar, not long after you posted. Surely you wont sell yet with this run? I'd be staying up late tonight if I was you to see if you can squeeze more gains before it drops

Well it went to 80 Us cents from 60 in 10 minutes then back. Hope you have a trailing stop (eg bitfinex or kraken) in place to save this 30%.

I think it might carry on higher if btc does not get sold out but we had 4 green days on the daily chart already and people get excited to book profits

I had no idea the crash was coming I just decided that I was so far in the green it was rediculous to get anymore greedy.

I have a mate that got to 2 million out of a $10,000 outlay, he's now at $60,000 but wont cash out.

My Wifes uncle and Aunty bought 25000 bitcoin when they were $1 and cashed out at $18000 and bought a huge property in Byron. They are sitting pretty even after paying tax.

But out of all these success stories there is more bad ones, like my mate that convinced my other mate to buy into an alt coin at $8.50 and spent 10k, he freaked and sold when his money went down to 1k.

It's all a gamble

So your wife’s uncle made $450M. Wouldn’t that be some sort of global record we all would’ve heard about?

There is a 3c difference between independent reserve and BTC markets. I didn't sell last night. Slept instead.

From what I can see ripple and swift seem to be getting into bed together. If that is true it will be booooom baby.

Funny story. One of my brothers mates said they were done 0.5 drink driving and I said you would almost be dead. And they said to me who cares about that.

Um doctors, engineers and software developers for a start. It's a pretty big mistake missing a decimal point

But won’t this tend to stabilise the value of XRP? No one will want to use it as a currency if its value fluctuates wildly. It seems to me that this development is changing it from a speculative asset to a transactional one. I notice in that article that Ripple has a lot of XRP in escrow that can be used to control supply if they choose to use it. Anyway, your investment has doubled in a very short time. Well played.

I wont be pulling the rip cord any time soon. XRP still has a long way to go. I am holding onto my current investment for about 24 months.

Down down that for sure. XRP has stood up quite well. I wonder if the recent fork had much to do with it?

Not sure to be honest mate. Im just cheering I got out last Christmas, I looked at the portfolio I sold in December last year and if i held onto it i would have lost 1830% of what I cashed in. Crazy how it hasn't recovered from the decline in January.

This won't help. Legally they are not property; so they can perhaps be stolen with impunity.
