Just noticed, looking at my photo of the Cordia, it's left hand drive.

It's LHD. I was in a slight hurry when I walked past it on the left and didn't notice the steering wheel position at the time, then stopped a little bit away from the car and took the photo from the front. The personalised B/W plates start with 'USA' so I guess it has been privately imported from there and it's not an original Mitsubishi import to Oz. (If I had any clue about posting an image here I would.)

Jensen has more of a Jag feel to it, and a big block Chrysler or GM

280SE Benz sedan; green/white (or is white/green?) personalised plates. You don't see many green/white plates any more and these ones hadn't been fried by the sun (or the oven) (at least the one I could see, the back one); probably always garaged. Reg check on Vicroads website: the reg has been renewed until June 2023 and it's a 1975 model. Older woman driver could be the original owner?

Today. This really is a blast from the [distant] past: Austin A95 Westminster SIX. Full VIC reg B/W plates A95. Original-looking (no fake patina) grey paint with a red flash down each side. (It's not that long ago that one of the British classic car mags did a profile on these. I think there was also a four-cylinder.)

The ol girl is often seen at the local nursery loading up the dick seat with perennials. Once spotted them both at Bunnings side by side, the ol guys canary yellow one was jump starting the other. Always get a wave and a smile where ever they go.

I found that buyer's guide. The Westminster was a 'six' and the Cambridge (similar styling but it was a bit smaller) was a 'four'.

Hi Guy's
Last Sunday i went for a walk. Goulburn has a big walking track and if you follow it you walk past the Police Academy. When i got back to my car and took off on the way i saw a Ford Escort Sundowner Panel Van in front of me. What a blast from the past seeing on of those. I thought most of the Escort vans had died. |

A few days ago I saw one of those TG Holden Gemini ZZ/Z sedans with historic number plates.

Yesterday I saw a Willys sedan, on club plates, parked with the bonnet up so there might have been a problem or perhaps the owner was just showing it off.
I looked up Willys images and I reckon it might have been this car (same colour - there couldn't be too many of that model around in that colour) https://www.shannons.com.au/auctions...A7F1N20PANFMI/ $14,500 for that just three years ago had to be a real bargain. |

Studebaker Commander, V8.
Around 1955 (I think). Sounded Schmick! The owner was chuffed to get a compliment. Wish I’d had time to get a pic!

When was the last time anyone saw one of these absolute weapons?
64KW and 120NM The original Ford Maverick. Can be yours for a princely $9,990 DA with just under 100,000 on the clock, even comes with an uncovered pod filter for our friends over at NSW Police. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...20665515/?Cr=0 Has a 1 star safety rating by the standards back then, so if you don't die from embarrassment, you will from injuries when some MILF with her Mercedes GLC opens her door into yours at the shopping centre car park. A dry one is as rare as a running Camira. (probably why the roof is down and there's rain on the ground)... Last edited by 383hq; 08-08-2022 at 09:22 PM. |
