The bonnet bulge shrinks in cool weather or when a Holden is near and gets bigger when another XR8 is in front of, or beside the vehicle.

Almost fell out of my breakfast chair, heard on 3AW a positive news comment about new Falcon's safety feature calling 000 emergency services after a crash and then heard an interview with Toby Hagon discuss it during the main breakfast show with NO negative comments AT ALL! (lol), If Ford can capture in some ads actual car features to show it's up to date, its improved safety like reverse cam etc.., has a state-of-the-art ICC (which going by some YouTube vids it will) coupled with an exterior that obviously shows it could be a new model then things might be OK until 2016.

Are those symbols on the end of the wiper stalk something to do with rain sensing wipers? I'm pretty sure my FG doesn't have them.

I thought they did something similar with the FG too...perfect time to run up a V8SC mock up.

SPOT ON MATE but no point, Ford doesn't listen to the market. Never has really - although it did upgrade XR utes to 2300Kg on FG after lobbying here on AFF. But that was back in the days of an Aussie who understood the (small) Aussie market and knew that with a minor upspeccing from parts bin, niche vehicle could be sold. |

I would have thought on a forum like this that GT performance at XR pricing would have been reason enough to buy one. Starting to wonder if we have a few Holden fanciers in the group, based on the nitpicking...
I'm all for added features, but if I need a little reminder that someone is in the lane next to me, then I am not a very observant driver and my mirrors are not adjusted correctly. If I need crash avoidance, then I must be travelling too close to the car in front. It's nice to have all the fruit, but I hardly see it as a make or break factor. And it does come with SYNC 2, which is more than I was expecting would happen. I think they've delivered more changes than I was expecting. They could have easily trotted out a MkIII (I know many of you are saying this is a MkIII), but they gave us a full refresh on the outside, the performance to blow in any Holden and most HSV's, and included interior upgrades to get through to 2016. I think they've done a great job, considering the limiting factors. Bring on the launch, bring on the pricing, and bring on the test drive!

Don't worry, the likes of Joshua Dowling will find a way to prove the 260 kw SS Commondoor is quicker than the 335 Kw (Really 385+) XR8.....errr 3 + 3 - 6 = 278

I used SYNC in a Ford Edge when I was last in the US, and it is a great system. You could control it from the instrument cluster too, so it was fully customisable. Looking forward to using it again, that's for sure.
And if you are good with tech, it'll only take you 5 minutes to get your head around it all.

I've heard 3 stations report on the new Falcon on the news this morning on various radio stations and in particular, the 000 in case of an emergency with the GPS coordinates! Thats the most I've ever heard about the Falcon on the news since it won Car of the Year many a moon ago.
I dont think these are ads either!

By all accounts SYNC2 is a clever bit of kit. I wonder if there are any aftermarket mods to enable it to display 0-60, RPM, boost and so on, similar to the 300 SRTs? Be a neat mod.
I'm still well on board! |

The other issue I constantly have is that the indexing of my ipod becomes 'stuck' and the only way to rest this is to remove fuse 67. Not an overly big deal, but it is annoying. I hope SYNC 2 is vastly improved..... Craig H

I drove it for two weeks without an issue, but I'm sure that living with it would find some glitches. I'd be inclined to get Ford to fix it, although I have no doubt you've been there and done that.
Gotta love technology, maybe this is why the VE has had issues.

Either that or it is his honest opinion. Emphasis on opinion.

Any chance older falcons that have screens (g6e, xr50) can somehow install Sync 2?

You would think that the majority of the commands in Sync would only relate to the ICC, so it sounds possible. I'm sure someone well versed in ICC's and the Sync system could shed some more light.

So now people don't want the new Falcon, they just want the ICC out of it..

Retrofitting ICC's...Hmm, I've always wondered whether an FG MkII ICC (8" touch screen) could be retrofitted into an FG MkI?

Plug and play swap, or are software updates needed?
