All this talk about it being a series III, no way, they've done far too much. New front bar, headlights, bonnet, front quarters, wheels, rear bar, bootlid, tail lights, dash trims, seat trims, door trim inserts, clusters, entertainment system, front sonar, lane keeping alert, additional model (XR8) & whatever else I've missed or hasn't been released yet. From what I've read, the FG model name was retained to slip around emissions regulations for new models or something to that effect.

Anyone else try and rub away the dust off their computer screen so they could read the 'XR' properly...?

No LED Brake lights on the XR6T? I thought the new tail lights have LEDs in them?

Regardless, if I had those cars, I wouldn't run them on anything less than 98. That's all I use on my cars, even though it is obviously not necessary with my old cars.

Oh and don't say that's not an issue, because I've been there and done that. Your explanation for solving the problem is a workaround to the core problem. Ford aren't' enforcing high standards in their dealer network. The customer of Ford shouldn't have to run around avoiding dealers because Ford won't fix them. |

Is this a Ford development thing or are they really short of cash and started this recently?

Always test for worse case scenario and cover all bases. Australia obviously doesn't only have 98ron fuel so durability tests have to be signed off on 91ron. IIRC, I6T's official spec sheets quote 95ron for power however.

Just like the engine tune is restricted to allow for poor maintenance and cheap fuel, so is their testing regime. People will put 91 in these cars, so they are testing for the worst case scenario.

The number 6 on the XR6 badge looks like an 8! The turbo font badge looks hard to read.

Looks like Ford designed the rear end first then added the rear badges.

Try putting a Mondeo badge on it just for comparison? Just don't like the rear fullstop. Maybe it will grow on me but if I wanted a Mondeo I'd buy one. Pity the Mondeo is front wheel drive as wife wants a new wagon. |

The original badge placement is the better looker IMO but the rear is an awkward design for to many badges.
