Well, this is the most incomprehensible statement ever, do you think that ford would put the badges on a blank piece of paper, then draw the car around the badges?

I...just...I don't even...

I like the badge placement personally. If you let the badge position determine the shape of a car, you're doing it wrong.

Should be like the au's, and have 'falcon' embossed into the chrome strip.

As soon as we saw it, it really stood out from the rest in traffic.

That's exactly what I was thinking too, the rear isn't all that bad, the deisgn and placement of those badges especially on that XR6 Turbo model above is horrid.

It's pretty amusing though, considering the XR8 next year will be reborn with the same spec engine as the FG GT, could you imagine being a HSV owner forking out all that money on a brand new GTS, then pulling up to the lights next to a FH XR8 and then sitting side by side all the way to 100 and beyond
Even more embarrasing would be the lower spec variants of the VF in HSV's stable getting whopped by a factory XR8.

Agree, they just need to get rid of the "Turbo" badge and use XR6t or XR6T.

Can the XR6 badge be higher with the TURBO badge underneath it?

Indeed, it looks like next to nil consideration was given for badge placement when they've revised the boot design. Having "XR6" and "turbo" on separate sides looks odd to me, I would have preferred them together, something like below.

I actually don't mind that. What about both on the other side?

I don't think that the badge location is brilliant but having seen the other suggestions, they probably choose the best of a bad lot.

Thanks to everyone for providing the images with the different badge locations.

As we discussed before, with the red '6' on the turbo, I find the word 'turbo' totally redundant and I think I'd remove it if I ended up in one. The red '6' says enough, I think, it's a nice touch.

Oh and don't say that's not an issue, because I've been there and done that. Your explanation for solving the problem is a workaround to the core problem. Ford aren't' enforcing high standards in their dealer network. The customer of Ford shouldn't have to run around avoiding dealers because Ford won't fix them.

Actually Ford are currently giving their entire dealer network a giant pull-through. This is of course a massive program that will take some time, but at least they're fully aware that they have a problem and are addressing it right now.
