1CN-2LB strikes again. Following it on my way to work this morning. Looks and sounds good.
For those wanting to know what the LED tail light looks like enjoy. Was like playing twister with my passenger leaning over me to get the pic but here it is.. Looks good driving as well. I might add that this is also my most constructive post in nearly 10 years! |

I wasn't a fan of the G6E image that Ford released, but the spy shots we've seen show that it is a nice looking car. I really think that Ford released shots that were not flattering to the cars, as the real-world photos we've seen show it to be a looker.
I think this is how Ford wanted it to be - get around in uncovered cars and get a buzz happening. Not a bad marketing campaign, but they will need to follow it up with air time once launched to really get the full effect.

Im not a VF hater but everytime I see one I get this Toyota Aurion feel about me.
The FGX looks great, just sad that they basically used the one bumper across the range.

Looks "different" to a GTS - both good looking cars IMO Although the GTS rear is pretty rude.
Badge placement is a moot point - rip em off altogether and it'll look much better for it. And get rid of that bootlid spoiler as well, horrible things they are. |

I don't mind the VF, but the GTS just looks like a toy car with a real plasticky look about it.
Looked at the recent Wheels dyno comparo video on the iPad, and the GT-F just looked and sounded so much better. Plus it had more power than the 430kW GTS, so it makes you wonder just how much the GT-F really should be rated at. Damn that transient overboost!

Yes i must say the rear does not accommodate badges nicely.

I like Dowlings observation that the XR8 will be sub 50k.

While I do think the XR8 looks a little better and more modern than the GTS from the front ... its definitely not the massive difference people where hyping up on here to be.
I also think the new ultra modern front does not bode well into the rest of the car's older design language, which unfortunately further highlights the lack of funding the engineers has to content with. For somebody who bought a new BFII, FG, and FGII I'm still on the fence in regards to the FGX and not sure if I will be proceeding to upgrade next year or not ... I guess for me it's heavily going to come down to pricing. Quote:

@ all the naysayers:
------------- The more I look, the more I want one. My badge snobbery and desire for gadgets found in other comparable cars (Liberty/VF etc) shrinks. C'mon Ford, do us a solid on the price eh? |

I really don't think it needs a spoiler.
A chop with the spoiler deleted, and the chrome blacked out would be interesting. Wonder if there's going to be a 'Lip' spoiler?

I like the GT spoiler on it, suits it more so then the smaller one, but then again it is a XR8 so no XR8 ever had a large rear wing.

I say delete spoiler, is the deck lid raise like the current Audi A4?
If its not then a little G6ET spoiler would look nice.

The deck lid is quite high, adding any type of spoiler just looks crap imo *Disclaimer: I am strongly biased against spoilers of all descriptions. |

I think the lower OEM spoiler (which is lower than on earlier FG's) looks just right. |

Actually as they are all sharing bumpers etc then it just does my head in why a G8E was not made.
Front end styling would be G6ET, driveline is XR8 and you could even use the rear diffuser from the XR8 if you wanted too...its all in the pile of parts along the production line already.

On the XR I agree, suits the G series though.

Yeah I think you're right with the G6E.
Shouldn't be hard to vinyl wrap or paint the trim after purchase

Has it already been confirmed that XRs will get a black roof lining?
If not, the XR6 EcoLPi I drove by today had it, however the pillars were still beige. Can assume that is just pre-production though.
