How things change. Despite it being a lot cooler and the promise of rain, my lawn is now bone dry and rock hard.

The aerator was driving itself in not so long ago but now it is browning off. A lot of rain forecast for the next few days so hopefully we get some.

Way better than last year though. Still manages to get through the garden beds

It’s the quantity I have to deal with, and the seasonal heat - 35° is common. I’d prefer to spray it but have no practical means to cover the area.

Yep that’s the one, quick and easy to install/uninstall. The dealer is going to replace a couple of blade screws I’ve lost on the HSA while he sharpens it.

Anyone have any idea why my mower is cutting like this. Leaving a strip about 2"- 50mm wide.

Mower is the 2 month old EGO 47cm self propelled on it's lowest setting, with really spongy lawn.

Are you mowing in the same pattern each time?

If so, you most likely have tracks.

I'd still tip the Mower on It's side & run a Straight edge on the inside edge of the Front Wheels & see how much (if any) overlap you have with Cutting Disk/ Blades...

I’m thinking it’s underpowered.

And unrelated to that, finally fired up the trimmer with its new head and 2.7mm line. Sounds like the council machines; I may have hit their recipe on the head. (As one does with malapropitic recipes.) Cuts strongly, too.

I don't miss mowing big lawns, it is a luxury but hard, demanding and debatably expensive work.
I only maintain the shire strip, roughly with a (bosch) whipper snipper: and I only do that half-heartedly, fertilise once a year type.

Oh, why is that, looking at 'heritagestonemason.com/Fordlouisvillerestoration' it seems green there. And the weather in the east has been wet of late, dont you get that ?

Having lots of redgums on the property and being West of the divide in Summer in NE Victoria gets very hot, we don't get Melbourne weather here.

I overlap my runs just slightly when mowing which seems to work though I guess it would depend on what grass you have

Water Authority drainage easement (ironic) when it does rain.
Everything is reverse here, mow lush grass in winter, rack leaves in summer. the leaf mulch is great for all the other native plants during the heat.
Love the large trees, main reason I bought the acre.

what type of grass grows good in the winter? all my pastures die off in winter. i need a good winter grass.
