Well the tuck shop to me at least was the school canteen or when you played sports the place to get a snag or a pie and a drink. So a place to get tucker. It's just the old term, just about everybody has been to one in their time.
I'm in the grey area where I know the oldschool but also am up to date with everything current. So why is it terminology has changed? I get that things are now much more politically correct, but in the 90s for example if you had a feet seat thingy, and wanted it sent your way, you'd say chuck us the poof. Cant say that anymore. Granted it's a term that has 2 meanings, the other being derogatory, but is it just me or does society these days take things a little to personal? |

Why is it I keep buying the IGA potato cakes and they keep letting me down . Will I never learn !!!
As for that type of Friday Night Footy (AFL) Fry up . I still gravitate back to the good ol' Birdseye Fish Fingers and some home made chips . Just a dash of white vinegar or drizzle of lemon juice and chips cooked fast and crisp in really hot oil with a sprinkle of salt and a good game of footy . Pretty good especially if the Tigers are up. |

Here's another Why Is It ...
Why is it that these idiots do this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujZaN7kwa14 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFpM1hRyvBI I cannot believe the carnage . If you watch it all , you'll see some scant regard for victims . Makes Russia's insanity look almost acceptable .At least they're just lousy drivers in the snow . Seems that life is expendable and so is common sense on these insane roads . Last edited by roddy1960; 14-07-2018 at 06:04 PM. |

When you organise to buy an item advertised online and when you arrive to pick it up it has been sold already. No phone call, no apology, just wasted petrol and a testing start to the day.

Why is it people have the need to nail it down my street when all they have to do is go one street over in the warehouse part of the neighbourhood and they can do whatever and nobody is going to care and the only person they are likely to hurt is themselves!

Why is it so hard to buy a decent fish finger these days that doesn't cost twice what it should. 90% of what you can find is just minced fish scraps.... and every time you find a decent one the major supermarkets pull it off the shelf and stop selling it to force you to buy their generic brands.

Why is it some people dont take responsibility for their own mistakes? Today I got flicked a job that was from another guy I work with. The customer was irate but I knew nothing about the job. I poked around in the ceiling and called the guy who started the job and he denied everything about what had been disconnected. So for what should have been a 10 minute fix I spent almost 3 hours rectifying stupid mistakes and there was some breakage involved. Not on my part, on his. The way my work runs is like a mafia. Had the bloke told me what he had done as opposed to denying it it would have been a 10 minute fix, I wouldn't even charge for it. Its give and take, one hand washes the other etc. We all make mistakes. But all take and no give makes the axe fall quicker. If there was a thread of what made me angry today I would have posted this there, but it's probably not a very PC topic.

Nah I reckon it's because the government didn't impose laws in the early 1900s banning some people to breed. That being said I do have 1 child.... no further comment on that one.

Why is it, a so called celebrity (Lucy lawless) will travel half way around the world by jet, to chain herself to a deep sea drill rig protesting against fossil fuel, when there are sandals camels and sailboats available....

And if it’s caught and eaten that day it can be any type of fish and it will still taste awesome. I remember many years ago up the north west of WA catching a heap fingermark brim, I used to always throw them back but my BIL kept them and cooked them up using this exact method above and they we to die for.
