I like it, but one thing with electric cars- why do they have to make them look so different to ice models? Take away the front bumper and style it like a normal car and it’d be spot on. Same with the interior. There is zero Mustang in it.

I like the GT, with the blacked out grill and the wheels, it looks quite good. Not sure on the colour coded grill though, on the base models.

Wont see a "normal" grille on an EV as they dont need radiators, so rhe area is blanked off as its better for aerodynamics.

Well yeah, "heat exchangers" for the batteries, A/C etc, but the demand for airflow on these is considerably less than an ICE car.

Not yet. I think they'll wait until Australia's recharging infrastructure is given some priority by the government. We're behind in that regard. Added to the fact how vast this island is the range anxiety we have is on the high side.
Great effort with Mach E. I think Ford just did what everyone already knew, and that is the Mustang name is actually a brand, and now's the right time to harness that marketing potential. Reading many of the stories they illustrate how much Mustang DNA exists in this product. The recent Top Gear article also talks about the sound mimicking a V8s harmonics. The shape I'm coming to like the more I see it. Seeing it in motion makes me think it's one of those cars you could buy just to stare at. |

By naming it Mustang they can charge a bit more for it, by making it a SUV (midsize? large?) they can charge a bit more for it too. Both these things important as the early electric cars are going to be expensive relative to the later ones. And the brand Mustang has strong positive connections worldwide.
Aaaaand, not coming to Australia. D'Oh. Oh well, there's the I-Pace at 120k.

I think it is great that Ford is producing an EV that can take on Tesla and that apparently has pretty smart performance. I don't mind that they are using the mustang name plate and if it helps boost sales and interest then all the better. Ford need to stay relevant as EVs and SUVs seem to be the future for the automotive industry.

I see a fair bit of the Jaguar F-pace in that, which is a good thing IMO
