Only ever received one speeding fine... 80 in a 60. Was on my P's... so bad news!

Seemed unlikely, but i had been spending some time in the area - so it was plausible. I asked for a copy of the photo... they reconsidered and advised that the fine had been withdrawn and issued to another motorist.

So... yet to receive a fine... having said this, the roads that i drive day in/day out dont seem to be targeted for speeding. That... and the tolerances in SA are fairly generous.... if you get done speeding, you were speeding properly lol.

Mate i've got a nose like a bloodhound for those coppers trying to lighten my wallet for me but i still manage one every year or so (not that i pay them)
The only time i speed is when i get stuck behind someone not doing the limit get the shits then blast past them. the rest of the time i am not in control of the speed... the cruise control is (i know im responsible for setting it)

I have only got 1 warning in 4-5 years of driving. If I get any in the mail in the next week I won't be suprised.

I just hope those police 4WDs don't have radar otherwise I'm pretty ****** I think!

But hopefully they have common sense to recognise I was overtaking and my car is more than capable. We will see.

There weren't many police around where I was.

if you went much over the speed limit at all, regardless of weather you were overtaking or not, you'll be booked..... or at least pulled over and cautioned....

Yeah, I didn't get pulled over or anything so hopefully all good. It was fast but I wouldn't say more dangerous compared to a lot of other people.

But then again everyone thinks that I suppose.

twice for 15-3o over and once for 22o+, athough they didn't get a speed on radar so they got me with wreckless driving, wreckless endangerment of life and driving in a wreckless & furious manner.

I was wondering how you lost your licence for so long. 3 charges for exactly the same thing when they mean the same thing :

I don't know 2 years would kill me. Plus I would have to sell my car, as I would never be able to afford insurance again. It's already expensive enough with a near clean record.

I have had my licence since 1985 (L plates) and have never had a speeding fine BUT I have been booked twice on the motor bike 1 for overtaking on the left going up the left of cars and cutting back in at the traffic lights 1993 and 1 for riding in a manner dangerous 1998 (doing a wheelie while taking off from a standing start in first then popped second while on the back wheel) , use to do it up to 4th gear to about 140kmh when I was young and stoopid :dr_Evil:

haven't gotten one yet (touch wood) but I've only been on the road for two years so far. Got a parking ticket today though, my first one yet - for dropping someone off at a bus zone (less than 10 seconds stopped) - I got done for 180 bucks, wtf is that? I'm thinkin I might fight it.

I hadn't got a fine for 10 years and i was driving from melbourne to young in one day. I was approximately 100k from home when a cop pulled me over.
"You were speeding back there, but the reason I pulled you over is because you were using the mobile while speeding!.
I couldn't believe it. I had the cruise on in the missus's fairmont wagon right on a hundred and I hadn't talked to anybody all day on the phone!
I said" do you have radar" he sez" no, we are trained to know how fast you are going just looking at your car!" I said"So how do you know I was on a mobile?" He said" I saw you talking on a black mobile!" I got out my mobile (which was off) and showed it to him (which was light blue) and said "look the thing is off, and you can check the callregister and see if i made any calls" He sez" I know what I saw and you are getting a fine. I got breath tested and he sent me on my way.
A couple of weeks later I got a fine for $125 for 15k over the speed limit and a warning for mobile phone use.
It would of cost more to defend the fine in court so I paid it.
But I lost a lot of respect for the highway police!

Only had 3 in the past six and a bit years. All of them have been with the ba though.
Also been pulled over by the police twice but I was speeding and deserved it one I was let off but the other I was stung with both times they were not *******s about it but you do get your odd bad apple everywhere.

Been on the road since 1973, never had a fine, driven high powered vehicles all my life, won't say I haven't exceeded the limit, but not intentionally, and yet I still have a healthy disdain for speed cameras and the wowser cops who use them to rack up quota points and courts that give out fines/convictions/demerits to recidivist drivers instead of much needed remedial attitude and skills adjustment training..... if only to make the situation safer for the rest of us.

Licence for 5 years

2 - speeding fines before I had a licence
4 - speeding fines since
1 - not displaying P plates
1 - excessive noise/smoke
1 - excessive speed/dangerous driving
1 - driving without due care
2 DUI - 1 withdrawn
1 - red light camera - found not guilty

I think thats all...
And rating 1 coming this year!!

About once a decade.....last time I got pinged was a-g-e-s ago, some 7 years? I was only doing 62kph (I think) in a 50 zone. I have all my demerits.

Beltronic & Valentines are worth their weight in gold......plus, a good eagle eye helps and knowing how to spot mufti's from miles away....the rims, hidden lights, blue shirts, aerials bla bla bla...

3 speeding fines in 32 years & Km??? so average once a decade get's my vote. About once every 10 years is about right with the last one in Dec 03.

What are the odds next when will be 2013 after I get my blower fitted?
