Hi All
Im from cape town South Africa..... this is mine (hasn't started in about 3 years. It had a twin turbo EFi in it....but pulled the whole system to put the triple weber carbs back on it) turbo motor (now removed....the thing drank fuel like i was supporting an oil company) current motor (same sub assembly etc....just no EFi and turbos...excuse all the wiring and stuff, was in the process of removing it all when i put the carbs back on) |

Cologne V6 has the distributor at the rear on the engine. Essex V6 at the front. I've heard of these motors but not seen one before. Looks heaps better in my opinion with the six pack Webers on there,,,

Essex V6. However FordSA at some point released a 3.4 version of it (south africa only)....so mine uses the 3.0 block but with the 3.4 crank/rods and pistons. The 3.4 made huge amounts more torque (longer stroke slightly larger bore....however the pistons are slipper types...very thin....nothing like the huge essex pistons)
Was inferior design in the heads though IMO ...therefore still using the 3.0 heads The 6pack webers were also a local 'special edition" back in 1982....was a homologation special for ford local racing at the time. Called the XR6 interceptor and only 250 built. |

Howzat. Looking good ekse. When I saw this, man how I missed my 3.0S and Sierra XR6. Truly well built machines. I wouldn't mind importing one here to Aus. Even the 3.0irs would do. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Does anyone know if a gearbox that was fitted to a 2ltr Pinto engine will fit a 2ltr Ford Engine for my TC Cortina

My 1975 TD Cortina. 200ci, manual.
We found it with 28 000km's on the clock and on its original crossply tyres. All of the paint smears, paper parts tags and dealer stickers are still there. Brakes, tyres and exhaust have been replaced and its been thoroughly detailed. Used sparingly on high days and dry days, shes up to 34 000km's now.
