One of my good mates dads was invited to a corporate track day in the mid 90s at eastern creek. So stuff like lotus's, 911's, 355's but there was 1 f40. So obviously you had a person in the passengers seat to say take it easy. My mates old man reckons the f40 was the most enguaging thing he had ever experienced. No driver aids, nothing even close, just you and the road.
I understand theyre maybe not the most attractive to some, but in one building i used to work in, on occasion some bloke would drive and park his lambo countache. It had the big old spoiler on it, tan interior and was white. It 100% reminds me of the original computer game test drive. Back when graphics were super pixelated.

The Lusso.

Ill add the Cisitalia 202.
The Facel Vega.
Lamborghini Miura and Countach.

Yeah love Jaguars.

There was a V12 XJS for sale here in Tassie very recently and trust me I was tempted (until I researched it as deadset money pits "apparently")

Wow, absolutely amazing, more so the second one linked (grey) and all done with a 2000s slk chassis and a fibreglass body on the second one.
The guy still had trouble buying genuine parts for grille, headlight and indicator bezels though.

A similar vintage car with a price tag to match but never gets any general public love or notice is the BMW 507

https://www.tuningblog.eu/en/categor...507-v8-290121/

one day I'd love to make a kit car of the 300sl or the 507 (ford GT40 too, but I wouldn't fit into even a kit car version, open tops only for me when it comes to these smaller old classics). Easier to get an A.C. ace/cobra body repro of course.

I've literally never seen that car until now.

Excellent choice and I hope to see more of these rare gems

Might be time for stronger glasses

I'm putting my vote in for Lamborghini Huracan - everything they do looks like a car from 50 years in the future.

Yeah it's a hand built alloy v8 competitor BMW came up with to take on the 300sl. They made them to order and still lost money on each one, so only 250 made.

Austin Healeys?
I remember back in the day you could go to a local car show in Perth and see heaps of nice cars like that.

Have you ever seen the youtuber "this week with cars"? Pretty stilted delivery when talking but it's an american guy that likes oddballs and british stuff. He's got a massive workshop full of healeys, plays with landrovers and also electric cars, ie the stuff normally everyone else making videos in USA doesn't care about, so he finds a lot and probably cheap too. He once bought 6 bugeye sprites in a barn find.

Yes all Healey's, 1 x 100/4 and 2 x 3000 MKlll's, the 100/4 was very advanced for it's day, it's got two head-up displays..... lovely cars.

Thanks that YouTube channel looks interesting, seems to have a thing about Bug Eye's, will give it a look...

Admittedly i haven't checked for ages but my understanding was the car was real in the garage and driving footage but the car wrecked at end was the replica.

Could be wrong.
